Hybrid Work Options
Advanced Micro Devices' Data Centre revenue doubled to $6.7 billion in Q2 FY2026, now representing 58% of total sales. Management projects Data Centre revenue will more than double again in 2027. The chipmaker secured major commitments from OpenAI, Meta Platforms, and Anthropic, with deployments ranging from 2 to 6 gigawatts of GPU capacity. AMD's non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 27% from 12% year-over-year, whilst fiscal 2025 free cash flow more than doubled to $5.5 billion. AMD trades at 230 times trailing earnings with a 2.48 beta, though forward estimates show a lower 49 times earnings multiple. The company maintains a 0.071 debt-to-equity ratio and holds net cash. Export controls cost AMD approximately $440 million in fiscal 2025.
AMD's third-quarter revenue guidance of approximately $13 billion exceeded its second-quarter guidance of $11.2 billion, representing a 16.1% increase. Since the 4 August guidance announcement, AMD stock has gained 25.4% compared to 0.9% for the S&P 500. Management attributed the higher guidance to strong double-digit growth expected in data centre and embedded segments, offsetting modest declines anticipated in client and gaming divisions. The company maintained its adjusted gross margin guidance at approximately 56%. AMD's chart shows an intact uptrend, with the stock trading 19.4% above its 50-day average at the 29 September close. The company's second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion exceeded guidance, setting a record.
Cathie Wood's ARK Invest sold $110 million worth of Advanced Micro Devices shares whilst purchasing $81.04 million of Nvidia and $25.56 million of Broadcom. This follows a similar transaction on 28 August, when ARK sold $74.5 million of AMD and bought $55.6 million of Nvidia and $20.5 million of Broadcom. The moves come as AMD recently acquired Fei-Fei Li's AI business World Labs for $8.2 billion in shares. Meanwhile, Nvidia reported fiscal second-quarter sales rising 106% to $96.22 billion and added $150 billion to its share-repurchase authorisation. Broadcom's fiscal third-quarter AI revenue rose 221% to $16.7 billion, with the company forecasting fiscal 2027 AI sales to exceed $115 billion. ARK has not explained the AMD sales.
AMD to Acquire Xilinx, Creating the Industry’s High Performance Computing Leader
GMKtec has launched the EVO-X5 Pro, one of the first systems featuring AMD's Gorgon Halo system-on-chip with up to 192 GB of unified memory. Regular pricing starts at $6,799. The chip can run AI models up to 345 billion parameters on Linux or 320 billion on Windows at 4-bit precision. This makes large models like DeepSeek V4 Flash accessible for local deployment. Gorgon Halo is an overclocked version of AMD's Strix Halo, featuring 16 Zen 5 cores and faster 8,533 MT/s LPDDR5x memory. The 50% increase in memory capacity over Strix Halo comes at a significant cost premium. Memory shortages driven by AI demand have pushed prices sharply higher. Samsung has warned that memory supplies will remain constrained through 2028, affecting both AMD and competing platforms like Nvidia's GB10.
