Requirements
  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Strong computer and technical skills, including required proficiency with MicroStation or Bentley roadway applications and Trimble Business Center.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to meet company motor vehicle record standards.
  • Ability to pass a clean background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
  • Generate and check geomatics data relative to the construction processes of civil works projects.
  • Create 3D models of proposed designs and process 3D and 2D feature elements from LiDAR, remote sensing, field collection, plans, and other document data into accurate and precise CAD drawings to Department of Transportation standards.
  • Establish construction elevations and vertical controls.
  • Develop and check layout data for buildings, bridges, walls, utilities, clearing limits, easements, and right of way.
  • Develop and check surface drainage layouts, including structure locations, top, inlet, and outlet grades, and drainage slopes.
  • Develop and check paving grades for base stone, asphalt, concrete curb, sidewalks, and other paving elements.
  • Develop and review 3D digital models of construction plans.
  • Model bridges, retaining walls, and surface drainage systems.
  • Verify drainage structure locations and elevations against the 3D model.
  • Generate data collector files for survey field crews.
  • Develop retaining wall envelopes.
  • Calculate construction volumes.
  • Perform quality assurance and control.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or a similar application.
  • Proficiency in technical mathematics; geometry and trigonometry are a plus.

Peak Rock Capital sells SAM to New Mountain Capital after doubling revenue

Peak Rock Capital has sold SAM Companies, a geospatial and inspection services provider for utilities and critical infrastructure, to New Mountain Capital. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under Peak Rock's ownership since 2021, SAM more than doubled revenue, completed 19 acquisitions, and expanded from its original footprint to add 25 offices. The company now serves 20 of the top 25 US utilities, providing end-to-end geospatial intelligence services across the critical infrastructure lifecycle. SAM, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, uses advanced scientific methods to capture and analyse infrastructure data, supporting grid modernisation and AI-driven infrastructure investment.
