About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in DC-DC and AC-DC power design, platform engineering, system validation, or hardware debugging.
  • Strong knowledge of CPU/GPU platform power delivery maps, including multiphase voltage regulator modules, point-of-load regulators, sequencing, telemetry, transient response, efficiency, thermal performance, and protections.
  • Experience using AMD SDLE or equivalent voltage-regulator vendor tools for configuration, telemetry, analysis, and debugging.
  • A good understanding of motherboard architecture, power-management firmware, BIOS interaction, low-power states, and system-level integration.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical investigations and drive complex issues to closure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical bridge between internal system design teams and external partners.
  • Support subsystem solution definition and component selection, ensuring alignment between AMD architecture and ODM/OEM implementation.
  • Evaluate emerging power technologies, solutions, and integration approaches for next-generation AMD platforms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with ODM/OEM teams and component suppliers.
  • Participate in architecture, schematic, layout, bill of materials, and platform-readiness reviews, focusing on power-delivery risks and system integration.
  • Investigate x86 and ARM platform power architectures, design trade-offs, and supplier strategies, and communicate actionable findings to AMD engineering and leadership teams.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of power controllers, power stages, MOSFETs, passive components, adapters, batteries, and related industry trends.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, design-review findings, root-cause summaries, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with x86/ARM CPU/GPU platforms, including workstation, desktop, or server products.
  • Experience working directly with major PC ODM/OEM companies.
  • Experience in competitive benchmarking and system-level power analysis across x86 and ARM platforms.
  • Willingness to travel as required to support AMD engineering teams, ODM/OEM partners, and component suppliers.
  • A master's degree.
