Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree in a health discipline, informatics, information systems, or a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in clinical informatics or healthcare information technology is required.
  • Demonstrated people management and operational leadership experience is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Epic build, optimization, or support in an acute care environment is required.
  • A strong understanding of clinical workflows, change management, and digital adoption is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage Clinical Informatics staff, including clinical informatics specialists, trainers, coordinators, and students.
  • Establish and manage operational priorities aligned with organizational strategic priorities and Digital Services roadmaps.
  • Provide oversight of clinical informatics ticket intake, triage, prioritization, and escalation in partnership with Digital Services and ENHANCE.
  • Oversee performance management, staff development, and workload planning.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead workflow optimization initiatives across inpatient, ambulatory, and ancillary domains.
  • Oversee local Epic build, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Ensure system changes are clinically validated and aligned with best practices and regional standards.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify and prioritize optimization opportunities.
  • Provide leadership for end-user training strategies and refresher education.
  • Lead and sustain the Clinical Informatics Super User Program.
  • Monitor system adoption and incorporate feedback into ongoing optimization and training plans.
  • Ensure high-quality clinical and business analysis to support system enhancements.
  • Translate clinical and operational needs into functional and technical requirements.
  • Act as an informatics partner to clinical and operational stakeholders.
  • Lead Clinical Informatics-led initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Partner with the Project Management Office, Enterprise Transformation Office, and Digital Services on governance and delivery.
  • Support effective change management, documentation, and communication.
  • Represent SHN at ENHANCE Ontario tables and working groups.
  • Coordinate local readiness and execution of regional initiatives.
  • Ensure regional standards and priorities are incorporated into local operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Epic certification(s) are preferred.
  • Experience participating in regional Epic collaboratives is preferred.
  • ITIL certification is preferred.
