About the company

United Auto Insurance provides low-cost auto coverage tailored for drivers who don’t qualify for standard insurance. It focuses on non-standard auto insurance and sells through a network of independent agents. Its products are priced to meet the needs of higher-risk drivers and are distributed via agent portals that streamline quoting and selling for agents. The company differentiates itself through its long-time focus on the non-standard market, its private ownership, and its use of technology to empower agents, plus a strategic expansion from Florida to Illinois and later toward Texas. Its goal is to grow its market presence in non-standard auto insurance, strengthen its financial position, and expand into more states by supporting its core markets with additional capital and scalable distribution.

What believers are saying

  • Guidewire Cloud should reduce claims friction and speed policyholder service.
  • Insurify reports activity in Florida, Georgia, and Texas, preserving core distribution reach.
  • Non-standard auto demand stays durable in UAIC's core markets despite carrier retrenchment.

What critics are saying

  • AM Best remains unrated since 2016, obscuring claims-paying strength during stress.
  • Florida PIP litigation keeps draining time; 2026 cases still cite UAIC fee fights.
  • Any reserve miss or claim surge can trigger regulator intervention and rating pressure.

What makes United Auto Insurance unique

  • UAIC sells non-standard auto through independent agents, keeping acquisition costs low.
  • March 2024 Guidewire Cloud migration modernized claims across all operating states.
  • Florida roots and Texas expansion focus on high-risk drivers other carriers avoid.

United Automobile Insurance Company Implements Guidewire Cloud To Modernize Claims It Operations

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--United Automobile Insurance Company (UAIC), one of the largest privately-held, family-owned property and casualty insurance companies in the United States, and Guidewire (NYSE: GWRE) announced that UAIC successfully migrated Guidewire ClaimCenter from an on-premise environment to Guidewire Cloud to power and simplify its claims and related IT operations. The company implemented ClaimCenter on Guidewire Cloud to its commercial and personal automobile lines of business in all of the states where it operates. “We implemented ClaimCenter on Guidewire Cloud as part of a multi-phase digital transformation strategy. We’ve been an on-premise ClaimCenter customer since 2008 and are familiar and happy with the system, so it made sense to migrate to a best-in-class, unified, cloud-enabled software platform,” said UAIC Chief Information Officer Parvin Kumar. “A software as a service (SaaS) model like Guidewire Cloud has helped us to automate and shape our business more effectively
