Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be enrolled, or willing to enroll as soon as reasonably possible, in an accredited apprenticeship program.
  • Apprenticeship experience is aligned to the applicable level: Apprentice I requires 0–2,000 hours; Apprentice II requires 2,001–4,000 hours; Apprentice III requires 4,001–6,000 hours; Apprentice IV requires 6,001–8,000 hours.
  • Apprentice I applicants may have a basic understanding of electrical concepts, but it is not required.
  • Apprentice II applicants should have a developing understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Apprentice III applicants should understand electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Apprentice IV applicants should have a solid understanding of electrical systems and wiring principles.
  • Applicants must be able to regularly lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Applicants must be able to work on their feet for prolonged periods while using tools and performing repetitive actions involving frequent bending and stooping.
Responsibilities
  • Assist experienced electricians with installing and connecting electrical systems, including wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and performing repairs and maintenance tasks as directed by senior team members.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
  • Learn and follow local, state, and national electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Safely handle and use electrical tools and equipment under the guidance of experienced personnel.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop troubleshooting skills by learning to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Participate in electrical testing, inspections, and quality-control procedures to verify the integrity and functionality of installed systems.
  • Communicate with team members, supervisors, and clients to support smooth project execution.
  • Pursue professional development and continuously improve electrical knowledge and skills.
