Requirements
  • An associate degree is required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification or equivalent registration in radiography.
  • Current Texas Medical Board license.
  • Two years of professional clinical experience in medical imaging.
  • Familiarity with Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology Accreditation Standards.
  • Proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, and academic advising.
  • Current knowledge of the discipline and educational methodologies through professional development.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in typing, Microsoft Office, and email etiquette.
  • Proficiency in problem resolution and critical decision-making.
  • Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to use a keyboard, view a computer terminal, and grasp objects.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move up to twelve pounds or exert up to twelve pounds of force.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and adhere to a syllabus in the required college format.
  • Communicate course requirements, evaluation methods, deadlines, and policies to students.
  • Develop and fairly apply methods for evaluating student learning outcomes in accordance with college policies and the syllabus.
  • Submit grades and required course documentation on time.
  • Follow college policies and procedures in all elements of course management.
  • Maintain required office hours to provide academic support and review examinations and other graded work with students.
  • Conduct classroom laboratory and/or online courses.
  • Work with other departments to manage shared space and resources.
  • Prepare for and teach assigned classes, use class time effectively, and maintain the scheduled class period.
  • Develop grading policies and student-assessment methods to monitor and communicate academic progress.
  • Provide students with information about course syllabi, objectives, texts, and required materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic progress.
  • Adapt instructional techniques to individual differences in the classroom.
  • Refer students to appropriate staff, offices, or resources for information, guidance, financial assistance, and placement.
  • Enforce regulations in the school catalog and student handbook.
  • Attend scheduled faculty, department, and committee meetings.
  • Use college equipment and property appropriately and ensure that students do the same.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of instructional experience.
  • Post-primary certifications.
