Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • At least 10 years of data engineering and architecture experience, with a proven track record in the life sciences or healthcare industry
  • Proficiency with Python and its ecosystem of data-focused libraries
  • Experience with a variety of database types, including relational, NoSQL, graph, and techniques, e.g. warehouse, data lakes, etc
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work independently, driving complex projects to successful completion

Responsibilities
  • Architect and oversee the development of advanced data models and infrastructure within AWS environments
  • Align data strategies with the scientific and business goals of Pioneering Medicines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and privacy regulations
  • Lead the creation and integration of data and analytical tools to support various business operations, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making
  • Spearhead collaborations with IT, Data Systems + Engineering, Applications, and Information Security to facilitate the deployment of robust data platforms for informatics and machine learning initiatives
  • Mentor and guide teams on best practices in data engineering, data architecture, fostering an environment of learning and growth
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience with governance for clinical data
  • Demonstrated delivery of data engineering solutions within the Life Science industry or data software for biotechnology customers
  • AWS Certifications, including Solutions Architect (Professional), Data Analytics, Database and Machine Learning
