The Nuclear Company develops and deploys nuclear power plants at large scale. It uses a 'design once, build many' approach and relies on approved, licensed technology already in operation in the United States to deliver safe, reliable electricity to utilities. The company partners with experienced firms to reduce the risks of big nuclear projects and uses modernized engineering, procurement, and construction methods to lower costs and speed deployment. Its core offering is building and operating nuclear facilities that provide baseload power, helping utilities meet rising demand while cutting greenhouse gas emissions. The company’s goal is to secure a stable, clean energy future by providing abundant, dependable nuclear power at the lowest possible cost.

What believers are saying

  • NOS Security launched May 18, 2026, expanding TNC beyond construction into security software.
  • Santee Cooper supports TNC's role, strengthening access to America's most execution-ready project.
  • TNC hired Robert Harmon, Hernando Madroñero, and Douglas Smith, deepening legal, deployment, and policy muscle.

What critics are saying

  • V.C. Summer still needs final investment decision, regulatory approvals, and definitive agreements.
  • TNC's five-year, $100 million Palantir commitment creates heavy fixed platform costs before reactor revenue.
  • A failed Brookfield partnership would strand TNC as a software-heavy startup without plant deliveries.

What makes The Nuclear Company unique

  • Brookfield chose TNC in May 2026 to manage V.C. Summer Units 2-3.
  • TNC pairs AP1000 execution with Palantir-built NOS for repeatable nuclear construction.
  • Brad Buss joined TNC's board on July 7, 2026, signaling institutional-grade governance.

Brad Buss joins The Nuclear Company board as independent director and audit chair

The Nuclear Company has appointed Brad Buss as an independent director and chair of the audit committee. Buss brings nearly three decades of experience in technology, infrastructure, and clean energy sectors, having participated in over $65 billion of capital markets activity. He currently serves as lead independent director of Marvell Technology and sits on the boards of AECOM and QuantumScape. Previously, he was chief financial officer at SolarCity and Cypress Semiconductor. Notably, Buss served as Tesla's first outside independent director and audit committee chair for 10 years, helping guide the company through its IPO. The Nuclear Company launches NOS Security platform to protect US nuclear infrastructure

The Nuclear Company has launched NOS Security, a next-generation security platform designed to protect nuclear energy infrastructure across the United States and allied nations. The system combines AI-enabled monitoring, autonomous drones, robotics, advanced sensing, cyber defence and real-time intelligence into a single platform. Led by Mike Marty, former head of security for Tesla Gigafactory operations, and Edward "Lee" Doby, who previously led security programmes at Southern Nuclear's Vogtle Units 3 and 4, the platform addresses growing threats including drone attacks and cyber-physical warfare targeting critical infrastructure. The system is designed to meet Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements and will initially support The Nuclear Company's own construction projects before being offered to operating utilities and allied partners seeking to modernise existing security infrastructure.

Brookfield and The Nuclear Company Partner to form new company to accelerate nuclear development in the U.S. Français. May 04, 2026, 08:45 ET The newly formed company has been selected to serve as project manager for V.C. Summer nuclear project COLUMBIA, S.C., and NEW YORK, May 4, 2026 /CNW/ - Brookfield, a leading global investment firm, and The Nuclear Company ("TNC"), a nuclear project development and delivery company, today announced a partnership to form a new company specializing in the development of Westinghouse nuclear reactor technology. The partnership's ambition is to establish a world-leading nuclear project execution company. Brookfield's global asset management and energy infrastructure development capabilities combined with TNC's nuclear project delivery expertise will serve as the foundation for the dedicated project development company. The business will offer execution capabilities for the deployment of nuclear projects based exclusively on Westinghouse reactor technology, including AP1000 and AP300, in addition to end-to-end project management, licensing support, and oversight of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activity. The parties expect to progress toward definitive documentation in the coming months, subject to customary approvals and conditions. As part of efforts to potentially develop two partially constructed AP1000 units near Jenkinsville, S.C., Brookfield has selected the new company as the project manager for the Fairfield County, S.C., nuclear project, formally known as V.C. Summer Nuclear Units 2 and 3 ("the Project"). The project is one of the most execution-ready nuclear development opportunities in America. Santee Cooper, South Carolina's state-owned utility company, supports the company's role on the project. The new company will support due diligence activity for the Project and oversee the delivery should it move forward to Final Investment Decision. Development of the project remains subject to further evaluation, regulatory approvals, and the execution of definitive agreements. "This joint venture reflects Brookfield's disciplined approach to large-scale infrastructure investment and focus on partnering with experienced operators," said Wyatt Hartley, Managing Partner, Brookfield. "By combining our global infrastructure development capabilities with nuclear project delivery expertise, we believe this platform has the potential to accelerate the American nuclear resurgence, building on the momentum of the Westinghouse partnership with the U.S. Government." "Our team was built on the field of Vogtle and on some of the most complex energy projects in the world," Joe Klecha, Chief Nuclear Officer of The Nuclear Company said. "We know what it takes to deliver nuclear. What's been missing is a model that brings together the people, the capabilities, and the capital to do it at speed and scale. That's what this partnership creates." About Brookfield Brookfield is a leading global investment firm with more than $1 trillion in assets under management that owns and operates real assets and essential service businesses that form the backbone of the global economy.
