  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights
  • Must be willing to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and other internal and external stakeholders (vendors, clients and contractors)
  • Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications
Responsibilities
  • As a Mechanical Engineer Intern, you will work under the direction of an assigned mentor to develop and implement project deliverables.
  • Mechanical Interns focus on the design and engineering of HVAC, mechanical utility, plumbing, fire protection, and other building support systems into the built work environment.
  • Typical tasks and deliverables include load calculations, utility assessments, energy modeling, design reports, code evaluations, plans, schedules, installation details, specification and coordination with manufacturers and trade partners.
  • Tasks will include utilizing computer aided drafting and engineering software.
  • Developing project documents (e.g., calculations, reports, construction drawings and specifications, etc.) for clients in coordination with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
  • Assisting with development of conceptual designs and coordinating with the design team under direction of the project team lead.
  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and other internal and external team members (e.g., vendors, clients, and contractors)
Desired Qualifications
  • Interest in Food & Beverage or Life Sciences industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with HVAC systems strongly preferred
  • Working towards Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D collaboration tools (Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, Assemble)
  • Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards within the AEC industry
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
