Requirements
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers certification is required.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • The technologist must be able to work under potentially stressful situations and care for emergency, in-patient, and out-patient populations.
  • The technologist must be able to work rotating shifts and rotate on-call coverage.
Responsibilities
  • Describe the procedure, answer patient questions before performing the study, and obtain patient history.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the radiologist for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Follow protocols and radiologist instructions to create an optimal study.
  • Monitor the patient's physical condition during the examination.
  • Assist with invasive ultrasound procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Acute-care hospital ultrasound experience within the past three years is preferred.
