Requirements
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field, or equivalent job experience.
  • Background or experience in distribution and at least 3 years of prior Brand Management experience in distribution.
  • Strong persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to speak before large audiences both internally and externally.
  • Strong knowledge of wine, with knowledge of alcoholic beverage industry terminology and production process techniques helpful.
  • Passion for wine and spirits with the ability to continuously learn new brands and represent them effectively to customers.
  • Ability to understand and execute brand strategy at the market level.
  • Ability to interpret consumer research data and analyze competitive activity.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask, and ability to work as a self-starter.
  • Ability to remain focused and flexible in pressure situations and resolve conflicts calmly and professionally.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and meet company driving record and automobile insurance requirements.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key supplier partners, including winery principals, winemakers, regional and national sales managers, brand ambassadors, and other influencers.
  • Communicate supplier expectations, focus items, market supports, and brand standards so departments remain aligned.
  • Work with the executive team and sales leadership to establish quarterly and annual brand-specific portfolio goals.
  • Analyze portfolio development and recommend new brands or product eliminations to support the company's growth strategy.
  • Manage portfolio pricing and programming, including supplier financial support and supported programs across channels.
  • Manage and execute new product launches, including item setup and pricing, marketing-material updates, and communication to the sales team.
  • Provide ongoing business analysis of product profitability, inventory, product turns, and aged inventory, including quarterly and yearly business reviews and planning.
  • Create and implement sales incentive structures for sales management and sales teams.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory and manage product turns with the purchasing team; manage new vendor and item setups, special-order items, increased inventory needs, market programs, trends, and national-account programs.
  • Manage and execute presale and allocation offers.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on market-calendar availability, time in market, focus items, event expectations, and trade investments, working with statewide and regional sales management.
  • Serve as a trade-facing product educator, company ambassador, and member of the statewide leadership team.
  • Provide education and mentorship throughout the organization and trade.
  • Travel within established geographic areas as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • WSET Level 3.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred; equivalent directly related education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience with alcoholic beverage production process techniques.
  • Passion for marketing and promotional events across all channels.
