Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 2 years of manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Must pass an aptitude test
Responsibilities
  • Receives instructions and performs required operations
  • Plans and carries out all tasks related to setting up and operating tube preparation equipment
  • Verifies material is correct prior to start of any operation
  • Cuts, trims, bends, threads, deburrs, heats-materials as required and directed
  • Bundles, racks materials as required to transport or store
  • Identifies tubes with contract and/or part number, size, material type, and gauge
  • Obtains parts, fixtures and tools necessary to perform assigned duties
  • Maintain straightness and length of coil cut tubing dimensions and tolerance as well as trimmed tube ends
  • Perform on-going in process inspection using appropriate gauges
  • Sign off on paperwork per procedure or as directed to indicate operator has checked his/her work and it conforms to the applicable fabrication documents
  • Verify all gauges and measuring tools are within proper calibration dates
  • Lubricate and clean tools/equipment daily
  • Perform daily safety checks on power vehicles and record findings on checkoff sheets
  • Observe all safety and shop rules
  • Assist and/or train new employees in job classification
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe environment throughout work area
  • Notifies supervisor of any unsafe conditions
