Requirements
  • A CannSell license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  • A clean criminal background check and successful completion of an extensive background check.
  • Four to five or more years of retail management experience.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Cannabis Retail Manager License from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario within the first month of employment by providing the required personal disclosure and details.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of cannabis plants and different cannabis strains.
  • Knowledge of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario standards for cannabis retail stores.
  • Knowledge of local and provincial laws and regulations pertaining to cannabis retail.
  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and its policies and laws.
  • Availability to work nights, holidays, weekends, and at different locations.
  • A valid First Aid certification is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with the Store Manager and company management to manage, maintain, and supervise day-to-day retail operations at the store location.
  • Motivate and inspire team members to be positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking.
  • Support the Store Manager and team members and provide positive and constructive feedback to support their professional growth.
  • Support the Store Manager and team members on work procedures and policies to ensure requirements are understood.
  • Follow written standard operating procedures as policies or regulations change and ensure compliance among the team.
  • Respond to team members' questions, suggestions, and concerns and help resolve team member conflicts.
  • Lead by example and work with staff to address circumstances that arise in a high-volume retail store.
  • Use customer and team member feedback to implement changes that improve the customer experience.
  • Track employee and store sales daily to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain store compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Organize and communicate required reporting and paperwork and record information in the applicable government tracking system.
  • Assist the Store Manager with inventory, sales, and compliance audits.
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
  • Coordinate with management and senior leadership to perform daily, monthly, and yearly inventory audits and reconciliations.
  • Ensure expired, damaged, and returned products are logged and disposed of according to regulations.
  • Assist with receiving and ensure that Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and wholesale deliveries are compliant and accurate against invoices.
  • Provide daily correspondence by email and manager's log to team members as needed.
  • Comply with human resources policies, including confidentiality and nondisclosure requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

High Tide opens 220th Canna Cabana store in Sarnia, Ontario

High Tide has opened its 220th Canna Cabana retail cannabis store in Sarnia, Ontario, marking its first entry into the market. The location at 1355 London Road will begin selling recreational cannabis products on 9 March 2026, bringing the company's Ontario store count to 96. The store is strategically positioned in Sarnia's east end along London Road, offering high visibility near Lambton Mall and surrounded by national retailers and big-box stores. CEO Raj Grover said Sarnia presents a strong demographic profile for cannabis retail and noted that Canada still offers meaningful opportunities for continued expansion. High Tide also announced it will release its first quarter 2026 financial results on 17 March 2026, followed by a webcast with executives on 18 March.

High Tide opens 219th Canna Cabana store in Scarborough, Ontario

High Tide has opened a new Canna Cabana recreational cannabis store at 3148 Kingston Road in Scarborough, Ontario, bringing its total to 219 locations across Canada and 95 in Ontario. The store began operations on 9 February 2026. The location sits along Kingston Road with strong visibility and limited nearby competition. It previously housed Rockwood Cannabis, which performed well in the market. Founder and CEO Raj Grover said the opening reflects the company's "continued focus on disciplined expansion" in dense, growing neighbourhoods. High Tide also granted stock options for 145,500 shares at $3.22 per share to employees and consultants, alongside 1,300,530 restricted stock units to directors, officers, employees and consultants, vesting over three years.
