Requirements
  • A high school education or GED is required.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation, a good driving record, and car insurance.
  • Must have completed and passed a two-step Tuberculosis skin test.
  • Good computer skills are required.
  • Must be able to follow directions and listen to the needs of patients and doctors.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements, including standing, walking, pushing, stooping, lifting as applicable, and pushing patients in wheelchairs.
  • Must have corrected vision and hearing within the normal range.
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions, work irregular hours when required, and tolerate occasional exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and protected health information guidelines.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen.
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians at assigned long-term care facilities with audiology, optometry, podiatry, and behavioral health care.
  • Assist the doctor in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Complete chart preparation for scheduled patients before every visit.
  • Verify and maintain current and accurate clinical records, charts, and medical history through electronic medical records during patient visits.
  • Ensure the integrity of all documentation.
  • Complete end-of-visit reports on the day of the visit and share them with management.
  • Provide daily feedback and work with the branch office to optimize scheduling and reporting.
  • Coordinate patient flow with facility staff during visits, including removing socks and shoes and pushing wheelchairs when needed.
  • Balance and generate daily production reports and provide them to the manager on the day of the visit.
  • Post charges accurately to the appropriate provider in a timely manner.
  • Work in a medical-office capacity provided by the facility.
  • Care for and clean medical equipment at the end of every visit.
  • Maintain medical-supplies inventory by auditing stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and expediting supplies.
  • Prepare supplies while minimizing waste and duplication.
  • Ensure medical equipment is functioning properly by completing preventive-maintenance requirements and following manufacturer instructions.
  • Clean the service area used at the facility before departing the visit.
  • Document patient conversations and inquiries in the electronic medical record and provide timely responses.
  • Travel to and from assigned medical facilities as required.
  • Support and comply with all components of the compliance program, including completing training and reporting suspected violations of law or company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
