Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required in advising, higher education, human resources, program administration, or a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Establish partnerships and create a thriving cooperative education program for students in collaboration with Community Impact, Alumni Relations, employers, and other campus stakeholders.
  • Oversee and expand a centralized campus-wide internship program, including for-credit and non-credit internships.
  • Educate, assist, and prepare students on the specifics of internships and cooperative education from pre-experience through post-experience.
  • Administer an employer vetting process for for-credit internships as part of the employer cultivation and engagement strategy.
  • Develop training, programming, and educational materials for employers, faculty, and students on internships.
  • Facilitate placements and complete memoranda of understanding for all internship participants.
  • File mandatory federal reporting forms.
  • Create a centralized repository for current and past internship sites.
  • Oversee on-campus student employment services, including helping students secure on-campus employment.
  • Develop programming, resources, and communication materials to advise students and campus employers on on-campus student employment.
  • Work with Human Resources, the Office of Community Impact, Student Financial Services, and Finance to operationalize and strengthen student employment services.
  • Manage Handshake, the job, internship, and career resources platform.
  • Provide career and academic advising services to students and alumni on career-related topics.
  • Manage the Career in the Classroom program connecting and educating students on career-related topics.
  • Organize multiple large-scale career fairs each year connecting employers with students.
  • Recruit, hire, and train all Career Peer Advisors and the full-time Career Advisor.
  • Create and oversee Career Peer Advisor programming.
  • Collaborate with the full-time Career Advisor on establishing cooperative education partnerships and creating standard operating procedures.
  • Lead social media and marketing engagement initiatives.
  • Manage the First Destination Survey.
  • Supervise and develop graduate assistants.
  • Represent the Academic and Career Advising Center at Accepted Student Days, open houses, and other campus events.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred, with a minimum of two years of experience in career development.
  • Experience in college or university academic advising or a career development office.
