Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Global Medical Affairs Leaders to own the strategy and execution of the Global Medical Affairs function for designated therapeutic areas or products.
  • Generate Integrated Evidence Generation Plans that meet prioritized regional and local needs.
  • Facilitate Worldwide Medical Affairs Strategy Team meetings.
  • Lead and implement publication strategies and global publication plans.
  • Identify strategies to gain external insights through advisory boards and pre- and post-congress meetings.
  • Own Global Medical Affairs cross-pharma policies and standard operating procedures, including the Research Concept Approval Process and System, Publication SOP and System, Investigator-Initiated Studies Policy, Collaborative Studies, and Methods Review.
  • Own the Global Medical Affairs strategy and business-planning process, Integrated Evidence Generation Plan, global publication-planning process, Global Medical Affairs Operating Model, SharePoint site management and scientific and knowledge information management, Global Medical Affairs Procurement Operating Procedure, and GCSO Advisory Board Business Operating Procedure.
  • Co-lead preparation of robust Integrated Evidence Generation Plans for compounds in development.
  • Coordinate the publications process and ensure publications follow the Cross-Pharma Publication SOP.
  • Supervise publication vendors and coordinate publication discussions with agency partners and Johnson & Johnson colleagues.
  • Maintain relationships with editorial staff at key journals and key scientific and academic societies.
  • Handle publication review and workflow with vendor support.
  • Oversee implementation of the Global Medical Affairs Operating Model through the Worldwide Medical Affairs Strategy Team to gain regional input and alignment.
  • Manage the therapeutic-area or product Global Medical Affairs budget and vendors.
  • Lead all aspects of the Research Concept Approval Process for Medical Affairs studies, ensure consistent implementation, and conduct due-diligence activities.
  • Interact frequently with Global Medical Affairs Leaders, Medical Affairs directors, Janssen Research and Development clinical scientists, global and regional marketing directors, regulatory leaders, outcomes research professionals, statisticians, key opinion leaders, academic institutions, medical organizations, agencies, and consultants.

J&J rises 1% as AbbVie's myeloma drug shows 74% response rate
