Requirements
  • For emergency assignments, at least one year of mandatory triage experience using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) is required; active on-call availability is required for most positions.
  • General medicine experience is required for medicine and internal-unit assignments; candidates already familiar with Chisasibi operations are prioritized for year-end blocks.
  • Experience in renal health and with Fresenius 5008 or Nephrocare equipment is required for renal-health and hemodialysis assignments.
  • For the Wiichihiituwin nursing position, prior training on Wiichihiituwin or the Care 4 system is a major asset; otherwise, a mandatory 10-day orientation is required.
  • Some assignments require active on-call availability; particular assignments are identified as on-call or without on-call duty.
  • Vaccination experience is prioritized for the vaccination campaign assignment.
  • Training in the Chayo program is prioritized for one Chayo assignment.
  • A trained profile is prioritized for designated Elder's Home assignments.
Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing services across emergency care, general medicine and internal units, renal health and hemodialysis, home care and community services, primary care, elder care, maternity and childhood services, routine care, vaccination, and patient support during transit.
  • Work in temporary assignments of varying durations in the listed Cree communities and northern service areas.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience with the operation of Chisasibi is prioritized for specified year-end medicine blocks.
  • Prior training with Wiichihiituwin or the Care 4 system is a major asset for the Wiichihiituwin service role.
  • Vaccination experience is prioritized for the vaccination campaign assignment.
