Requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor's degree in business, communications, public administration, political science, public policy, or a related discipline, and a minimum of 3 years of experience; an equivalent combination of training, including military and/or related experience to the duties of the position, may also qualify.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the state and local political, social, and human services environment is preferred.
  • Comfort working with a diverse staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
  • Experience developing social media content and applying artificial-intelligence-enabled tools to enhance business processes, support project execution, improve operational effectiveness, and develop communications and engagement content.
  • Regular and reliable job attendance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships.
  • Independent judgment and discretion, including the ability to compare and evaluate possible courses of conduct and make or recommend decisions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work effectively in an in-office/open-office environment with moderate noise.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and implement assigned projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish an organizational presence in targeted communities by engaging multicultural audiences, developing community partnerships, building volunteer capacity, and designing and executing community programs and events.
  • Develop and manage relationships with third-party contacts, including program participants, vendors, and program partners.
  • Align volunteer and partner interests with organizational priorities, support volunteer and partner needs, and design opportunities to maximize volunteer engagement.
  • Collaborate on the administration of volunteer programs or volunteer strategy.
  • Participate in recruiting, managing, and training volunteers when necessary.
  • Use and analyze program, financial, and research data to recommend program and process improvements and monitor impact.
  • Prepare data and reports for various stakeholders.
  • Execute business and program operations tasks, including research, report writing, and creating presentations.
  • Contribute to tracking and reporting strategic-plan strategies and action plans.
  • Assist in developing and implementing new solutions.
  • Assist with management of program budgets and assets.
