About the job

Requirements
  • Three to five years of product marketing experience, with direct experience owning product or feature launches; candidates with less experience may be considered if they have exceptional fit.
  • Ability to write and position for a technical domain such as aerospace, defense, engineering, industrial software, or similar hard-tech fields.
  • Understanding of how launches, content, and enablement fit into a broader marketing funnel and business strategy.
  • Ability to learn a complex technical domain quickly and develop credible, differentiated positioning.
Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end launches for new products and features, including positioning, messaging, go-to-market plans, and cross-functional coordination to meet adoption, activation, and usage targets within a defined post-launch window.
  • Work with product and engineering teams to translate roadmap investments into business outcomes by understanding what is shipping and why it matters to customers.
  • Create launch assets, including release notes, landing pages, in-product messaging, demo scripts, and internal briefs to prepare the field to sell new capabilities.
  • Build and maintain sales collateral, including one-pagers, battlecards, competitive positioning, and return-on-investment narratives, to help sales win deals and advance the pipeline.
  • Partner with sales leadership to identify enablement gaps and address them with targeted content and training.
  • Develop vertical-specific positioning and proof points, such as for nuclear and aerospace, grounded in verified customer evidence.
  • Own a content calendar covering case studies, blogs, product announcements, and thought leadership to build Revel's reputation and share of voice in core markets.
  • Partner with customers and engineers to draft case studies and testimonials that demonstrate verified real-world impact.
  • Work with engineers to translate technical updates into content for technical and executive audiences.
  • Report to the Director of Product Marketing and work closely with design, product, sales, and test engineers.
  • Partner with designers on visual assets and with product teams on launch timing and scope.
  • Track and report on share of voice, launch adoption metrics, and pipeline contribution from content.
  • Occasionally visit customer facilities, including rocket engine test stands and nuclear reactor sites.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience at a high-growth startup or in the aerospace, defense, or nuclear industry.
  • Background in technical writing, public relations, or executive communications.
  • Experience managing corporate social channels and building an audience.

About the company

Revel builds software for engineering teams to test and operate complex hardware, from early prototypes to production systems. Its RevelTest product handles benchtop experiments and repeatable testing, while RevelC2 supports facility-wide command and control in aerospace, energy, and defense. Teams use browser dashboards to monitor live sensor data, adjust equipment, and review historical logs, with RevelCode as a language designed for hardware control. The company sells the platform to hardware organizations, combining programmable alerts, reporting, and data exports in an environment used throughout a system's development and operation. Revel was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

What believers are saying

  • Employees share ownership: Revel grants equity to all full-time staff.
  • Funding expands resources: Revel announced a $150 million Series B led by Index Ventures in February 2026.
  • Revel fits custom equipment: Astro Mechanica connected devices through its existing in-house driver protocol.

What critics are saying

  • Deployment engineers face broad demands: Revel combines component wiring, lab advice and customer test execution in one role.
  • Sales consume engineering work before payment: Revel runs free pilots for one or two months before discussing commercial terms.
  • Product focus is stretched: Revel's founder calls pursuing testing and industrial control simultaneously a threat.

What makes Revel unique

  • Revel gives operators ownership: Astro Mechanica staff author automation and reduce reliance on a single internal software expert.
  • Revel draws on hardware operators: its engineering team includes veterans of SpaceX, Anduril and Palantir.
  • Revel checks faults during operation: its control language tests expected system states at runtime.

Revel raises $150M Series B to modernise hardware control for aerospace and industrial systems

Revel, a startup building software platforms for hardware testing and control, has raised $150 million in a Series B round led by Index Ventures. Redpoint Ventures participated, alongside returning investors Thrive Capital, Felicis and Abstract Ventures. Founded just over a year ago, Revel initially focused on aerospace applications, reducing engine test-stand setup times from 14 days to 8 hours. The platform delivers real-time telemetry, hardware-agnostic control and rapid reconfiguration capabilities. The company is now expanding beyond test infrastructure into industrial control applications across energy, manufacturing, defence and biomedical systems. Revel's leadership team includes engineers from SpaceX, Anduril and Palantir. The funding will be used to scale the team and expand product capabilities for high-consequence hardware systems.
