THE ROLE:The Quality Systems Engineer will be responsible forcontributing to developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for Xylem and its supply chain to operate within.In this role, the incumbent will alsoundertake auditing to ensure compliance although this may be carried out by a third party.We offer a full benefits package to include Flexible Time Off (FTO)forsalaried positions, health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and additional miscellaneous benefits.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Oversee effective implementation of the Quality Management System throughout the company, including any business accreditations.
- Maintain the Quality Manuals and Quality Procedures and ensure contents are appropriate for the business.
- Analyze current and future procedural needs of business.
- Establish and Maintain CAPA System according to ISO requirements.
- Review Complaints and make sure investigations and actions are taken timely.
- Prepare Management Review Meetings and collect data as required.
- Organize and manage the plant internal audit system and the corrective action reporting system.
- Conduct Quality Systems audits and assist in training/guidance to other auditors.
- Host external Quality System audits.
- Provide training on Quality issues and business processes.
- Coordinate the review of Quality procedures associated with the plant.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Independently determine approach and assigned tasks.
- Liaise with Process Improvement Engineers and specialists to implement an effective, documented process that defines product Quality requirements.
- Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers.
- Communicate efficiently throughout the shop floor and with own management.
- Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process, or system.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies
- Actively commit to team development
- Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma
- Assist with training quality awareness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degreed in Engineering – Mechanical, Industrial preferred, BS/MS or MBA
- Combination 1-3 years of work experience in Quality Assurance / Heavy Industrial experience
- 1-2 years of Six Sigma and/or Lean training
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role, the working environment is a typical manufacturing plant environment under the following conditions: noise, fumes, dust, and high voltage electric current. Some duties are performed outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions. Physical requirements include: good vision and hearing; ability to stand and walk, lift and carry up to 20 pounds
