Requirements
  • At least 8-10 years of experience.
  • 24/7 operations center, military, law enforcement, or emergency management experience.
  • An active Secret security clearance and suitability for TS/SCI are required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor the status of the nation’s transportation systems, report incidents, accidents, or threats to system integrity, and evaluate their potential impacts on transportation systems.
  • Obtain information through email, secure email, telephone, secure telephone, facsimile, secure facsimile, high-frequency radio, satellite telephone, and secure or unsecure video teleconferences, and select the appropriate communication method, format, priority, and distribution means.
  • Monitor and disseminate items of interest to decision-makers and leadership to support situational awareness and emergency management.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with personnel from other departments and agencies and promote the client organization as the central point of exchange for products and information.
  • Become familiar and proficient with WebEOC for statistical, reporting, and archiving purposes.
  • Review and present best-practice changes to operations and information standard operating procedures, checklists, templates, and administrative processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of critical reports and alerts and provide briefings summarizing significant issues when requested.
  • Ensure Requests for Information are acted upon and coordinated effectively, and ensure reports, presentations, and briefings for the Secretary are timely, accurate, and fully coordinated.
  • Initiate and receive nonsecure and secure video teleconferences, troubleshoot system problems, rekey encryption devices, and operate peripheral devices through a console when necessary.
  • Assist with emergency message dissemination using contact lists and defined notification scenarios.
  • Maintain unclassified, Homeland Secure Data Network, and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System accounts.
  • Participate in exercises and drills.
  • Work 12-hour shifts in a 24/7/365 Panama-style rotating schedule, with additional hours during major disasters, activations, and mandatory communication testing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Web-based Emergency Operations Center, SharePoint, and Continuity of Operations.
