About the company

Tandem Health builds an AI medical assistant for clinics across Europe that embeds AI into clinicians’ workflows. It uses an AI scribe to capture consultations and generate notes, referrals, sick notes and visit summaries across 50+ specialties, with voice editing and a coding assistant for ICD-10 and SNOMED, plus a clinician-led decision support tool that provides source-linked guidelines during visits. It differentiates itself with broad European language coverage, CE-marked EU MDR Class IIa devices, GDPR and ISO certifications, and extensive EHR integrations with data hosted in Europe, along with a policy that audio is never stored. Its goal is to restore presence in the consultation and evolve toward a full clinic operating system that handles patient flow and routine clinical tasks.

Medical AI assistant for patient calls - integration between Aurora teleQ and Tandem Health.

Medical AI assistant for patient calls - integration between Aurora teleQ and Tandem Health. More time for patients, less time on administration. That is a goal that Aurora Innovation and Tandem Health share. Tandem Health's medical AI assistant is now integrated into Aurora teleQ, making it possible for all healthcare providers to use AI transcription for clinical documentation during patient calls. One of healthcare's biggest time thieves is documentation. The work is important and must be carried out carefully - but it takes time and focus away from the patient encounter. Tandem Health has developed a medical AI assistant that reduces the time spent on clinical documentation. With the integration into Aurora teleQ, this solution can now also be used during phone and video consultations. How it works for the healthcare provider. The integration between Aurora teleQ and Tandem Health is seamless. When a healthcare provider receives a patient call in Aurora teleQ, the patient is given the opportunity to accept or decline transcription - with a simple button press by the provider in Aurora teleQ. Once consent is given, Tandem Health's AI assistant is activated automatically. The audio is streamed directly to Tandem Health without being stored on any servers. When the call ends, a structured clinical note is ready in the Electronic Medical Record, where the provider can quickly review, edit and sign it. Patient-safe and efficient. The solution is developed with patient safety at its core. All data transfer is encrypted. Tandem Health is also certified according to the EU's MDR regulation for medical devices. Since no audio is stored, clinics that are not permitted to record calls can use the solution as well. "Being able to focus on the phone call with the patient without having to write at the same time is a great help in our administrative work. On top of that, the AI solution summarises the call with 97% accuracy, which means you can quickly scan through priorities afterwards", says Anna, who has tested the solution at Aleris Endoscopy and Gastro. Since notes are created automatically, the risk of human error is reduced. The healthcare provider can review and edit the clinical notes afterwards - a workflow that improves both the efficiency and the quality of documentation. A smooth workflow. Aurora Innovation and Tandem Health operate in different parts of the healthcare ecosystem, but complement each other well. The new integration supports the healthcare provider throughout the entire process, from initial contact and consultation to notes and documentation. The goal is to give providers the time they need for the patient encounter, and to reduce the pressure on their working day. "The solution means that more healthcare providers experience less cognitive load and system fatigue. As a provider, you can now be 100% present during the patient call", says Kristina Larsson, Product Manager, Aurora Innovation. The integration launches September 24th 2026. About Tandem Health: Tandem is a complete medical AI assistant for healthcare. The solution is designed to fit into healthcare's existing systems and workflows, supporting staff before, during and after the patient encounter while reducing the time spent on administration. The goal is to give healthcare providers more time for their patients. Want to learn more about the new integration in Aurora teleQ and how your clinical documentation can become more efficient? Tandem Health raises $100 million for European healthcare AI.

Tandem Health raises $100 million for European healthcare AI. Stockholm-based Tandem Health has raised $100 million in Series B funding led by the Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT, in the fund's first healthcare AI investment. Existing backers Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective, and Visionaries also joined, bringing total funding to $160 million. Tandem develops an AI medical assistant for clinicians that prepares patient summaries, supports clinical decisions, and automates documentation and coding. Its AI Scribe, Coding Assistant, and Clinical Decision Support products are each independently certified as Class IIa medical devices under the EU Medical Device Regulation. The company says clinicians using Tandem report a 29% reduction in admin time, a 30% improvement in job satisfaction, and a 30% reduction in administrative stress. Since being founded three years ago, Tandem has opened offices in 14 European markets and has been brought to over 10,000 care organizations, including Ramsay Santé, Humanitas, and the NHS. New funding will support broader adoption across Europe, expansion of its clinician-led team of 75+ inhouse clinicians, and development of an AI-native Clinic Operating System designed to manage patient flows and handle more clinical tasks.

Aurora teleQ integrates with Tandem Health.

Aurora teleQ integrates with Tandem Health. A natural step towards more accessible healthcare. Aurora Innovation and Tandem Health have entered into a partnership that connects Aurora teleQ, one of the most widely used patient communication platforms in Swedish healthcare, with Tandem Health's medical AI assistant for clinical documentation. The integration has already been launched and is available to healthcare providers in Sweden that currently use Aurora teleQ. The aim is to free up time for what truly matters: the interaction with the patient. The time currently spent documenting what was discussed during a call or appointment can be significantly reduced, without healthcare professionals having to leave their usual workflow. What the integration means. Many healthcare providers already manage their patient communication, including phone calls, callbacks, video appointments and other interactions, through Aurora teleQ. Through this partnership, these interactions can now be connected directly to Tandem Health's medical AI assistant, which listens to the conversation, structures the information and drafts clinical notes based on the call or appointment. The integration works whether healthcare professionals use a softphone or a physical telephone that is not connected to a computer. A computer-integrated solution is therefore not required to benefit from using Tandem together with Aurora teleQ. Healthcare professionals can continue making calls in the way they are used to. In practice, this means that healthcare professionals who already use Aurora teleQ as their patient communication platform can add Tandem to support their clinical documentation, without having to switch between multiple separate tools or enter the same information twice. Benefits for healthcare professionals and patients. * Less duplication of work - documentation can begin within the same workflow in which the patient interaction already takes place. * Clinical notes completed faster - notes are created shortly after the interaction, reducing the risk of important details being forgotten. * More structure and greater peace of mind in everyday work - less friction between communication and documentation, whether using a softphone or a physical telephone. * More time for patients - when less time is spent on administration, more time can be dedicated to the patient interaction, contributing to more accessible healthcare. What happens next? The integration is already available to healthcare providers in Sweden that use Aurora teleQ. Ready to try it? Tandem Health: scaling AI to transform clinical workflows across Europe.

Tandem Health: scaling AI to transform clinical workflows across Europe. Stockholm-based Tandem Health is developing AI software designed to reduce the administrative workload faced by healthcare professionals. Its best-known product is an AI medical assistant that listens to consultations and helps generate structured clinical notes. The goal is simple: reduce the amount of time clinicians spend documenting appointments so they can dedicate more attention to patients. The company is now expanding this concept beyond clinical documentation. Its longer-term ambition is to develop an AI-native operating system for clinical workflows, covering additional activities such as patient flows, clinical decision support, documentation and coding. By September 2026, Tandem said its technology was being used by around 10,000 care organisations across 14 European countries. This post covers: * The September 2026 Series B * From medical notes to an AI-native healthcare platform * Tandem's funding journey * What the funding journey shows * Fundingtrip: insights about funding The September 2026 Series B. September 2026 marks another major stage in Tandem Health's growth. The Swedish company is finalising a $100 million Series B led by the Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by EQT. The round represents the fund's first investment in AI healthcare. Existing investors including Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective and Visionaries Club are also participating. The new capital is intended to accelerate Tandem's expansion among European healthcare providers and support the company's evolution from an AI medical assistant into a broader clinical operating system. The timing is significant. Tandem is raising at a point when its technology has already achieved substantial adoption, meaning the new capital is being deployed primarily for scaling rather than initial product validation. From medical notes to an AI-native healthcare platform. Tandem's product addresses one of healthcare's persistent problems: the amount of administrative work required from clinicians. Its AI assistant can prepare patient summaries, generate documentation during or after consultations and support administrative workflows such as coding. Tandem says clinicians using its products report a reduction in time spent on administrative tasks. The company is also building integrations across European healthcare systems. This is particularly important because healthcare is highly fragmented across countries, with different languages, regulations, workflows and information systems. Rather than treating this complexity only as a barrier, Tandem's European focus has become part of its positioning. The company aims to develop AI specifically for European healthcare environments. Tandem's funding journey. Tandem's earlier funding rounds established the foundations for its current expansion. The company raised an approximately €8.9 million seed round in June 2024, with investors including Northzone, Amino Collective, Google DeepMind, OpenAI and the founder of Capio Sverige. In June 2025, Tandem announced a $50 million Series A, led by Kinnevik with participation from Northzone, Amino Collective and Visionaries Club. Kinnevik reported that it invested €30 million in the €40 million funding round. The Series A provided the resources for European expansion and further product development. The September 2026 Series B now represents a substantial step up in scale, with the company moving from expansion to building a broader AI platform for healthcare. What the funding journey shows. Tandem's journey highlights the importance of proving real-world adoption before pursuing major scale-up capital. The company did not raise its largest round simply because healthcare AI was a promising market. Its financing followed evidence that clinicians and healthcare organisations were actually using the product. The progression from a focused clinical documentation product to a wider healthcare platform also demonstrates how funding can support a strategic expansion of the original business model. For founders, the lesson is to connect fundraising milestones with measurable business milestones. Investors need to see not only what a company could become, but evidence that its technology is already solving a meaningful problem. Fundingtrip: insights about funding.
