About the job

Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Power Systems Engineering, or a related career.
  • At least eight years of experience in industrial electrical infrastructure, preferably in manufacturing plants, including prior coordination, technical leadership, or supervision of teams and contractors.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining electrical service entrances, medium- and low-voltage systems, substations, transformers, power breakers, main and branch panels, solar panels, motor control centers, feeders, protection systems, grounding, and backup systems.
  • Solid experience as an Electrical Safety lead, including arc-flash and electric-shock risk assessments, approach boundaries, labeling, electrical work permits, lockout/tagout, absence-of-voltage verification, electrical personal protective equipment selection, and supervision of electrical work.
  • Experience planning and supervising preventive and corrective electrical maintenance, including thermography, electrical testing, transformer and protection-system maintenance, insulation testing, power-quality testing, outages, scheduled shutdowns, and contingency response.
  • Experience leading root cause analyses and investigations of electrical failures, supply interruptions, and incidents involving electrical energy.
  • Experience developing electrical capital expenditure projects, including load analysis, power-source selection, route definition, conductor calculation, protection selection, statements of work, budget estimates, installation supervision, and final release.
  • Experience developing formats and leading root cause analyses for failures, trips, electrical interruptions, unsafe conditions, and incidents involving electrical energy.
Responsibilities
  • Technically administer the plant's electrical infrastructure, including the service entrance, medium- and low-voltage systems, substations, transformers, main and branch panels, feeders, bus ducts, grounding systems, emergency generators, and uninterruptible power supply systems.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs, scheduled shutdowns, and contingency plans to ensure operational continuity, control asset deterioration, and reduce unplanned interruptions.
  • Lead the plant's Electrical Safety program and ensure compliance with applicable requirements for arc flash, electric-shock risk, lockout/tagout, approach boundaries, work permits, absence-of-voltage verification, insulated tools, and electrical personal protective equipment.
  • Validate that employees and contractors have the necessary controls before beginning work, and stop work that presents a risk or violates requirements.
  • Lead electrical infrastructure projects from identifying the need through commissioning, including capacity analysis, power-feed point selection, routing, conductor sizing, raceways, protection, uninterruptible power supply systems, and capacity for future expansion.
  • Perform and apply calculations for load, installed capacity, demand, conductor selection, voltage drop, routing, raceways, short circuit, protection coordination, and selectivity.
  • Prepare statements of work, technical specifications, operating and capital expenditure budgets, technical-economic comparisons, and schedules; monitor safety, scope, cost, quality, progress, changes, testing, as-built drawings, and final release.
  • Plan and supervise electrical maintenance, outages, testing, thermography, inspections, contingency response, and specialized work performed by internal technicians or contractors, ensuring safe conditions and compliance with work methods, risk analyses, permits, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define technical scopes, work methods, risk analyses, permits, and acceptance criteria; verify that installations are tested, identified, documented, reflected in updated drawings, and formally released before operation.
  • Lead investigations of electrical failures, trips, interruptions, incidents, and unsafe conditions using standardized root cause analysis formats; document evidence, timelines, failure mechanisms, contributing causes, and corrective actions.
  • Track action owners and due dates and verify action effectiveness; turn lessons learned into improvements to procedures, designs, maintenance plans, critical spare parts, training, and Electrical Safety standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • A specialization or certifications in Electrical Safety, arc flash, electrical power systems, industrial maintenance, project management, energy management, or electrical risk analysis.

Robert Bosch Venture Capital

View

RBVC (Robert Bosch Venture Capital) is a global venture capital firm that backs early-stage deep tech startups in areas like energy efficiency, medical devices, and virtual/augmented reality. It supports companies with funding and access to Bosch’s network and resources to help them scale and bring innovations to market. Unlike traditional VCs, RBVC may purchase solutions for a proof-of-concept while allowing startups to keep their intellectual property, which speeds up development and lowers upfront costs. The firm earns money through equity investments and the eventual success of its portfolio. RBVC’s goal is to accelerate technological advances across multiple industries by connecting startups with Bosch’s ecosystem, customers (from medical centers to data centers), and global reach.
