  • Ability to problem-solve, analyze, and interpret information is required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and patient needs in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make crucial decisions while knowing when consultation is needed is required.
  • Ability to be open and culturally sensitive to a wide variety of patients' experiences is required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English, are required.
  • Ability to model and teach 12-Step programs and philosophy is required.
  • Ability to de-escalate people in crisis in a calm and supportive manner and work professionally in stressful situations is required.
  • Ability to present to hostile or disinterested groups is required.
  • If recovering, eighteen months of verifiable abstinence is required.
  • Ability to perform or be certified or eligible for CPR and First Aid is required.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends, and stay overnight during inclement weather as part of critical staffing is required.
  • Ability to travel to other off-site facilities or campuses is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, push or pull up to 40 pounds, and move across uneven and rural terrain is required.
  • Ability to speak, hear, see, sit, walk, stand, reach, and use fine and gross motor skills is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and indirect services to assigned patients and populations while facilitating a safe and therapeutic milieu.
  • Provide formal and informal orientation to patients and family members regarding clinical programs and services.
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and healing environment for patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
  • Assist counseling staff with initial and ongoing patient assessment through data collection and direct observation.
  • Perform luggage and personal property searches.
  • Provide addiction and recovery psychoeducation to individuals, groups, and families.
  • Facilitate or coordinate community groups, in-house and outside 12-Step meetings, and 12-Step discussion or study groups.
  • Transport patients to 12-Step meetings and therapeutic recreation activities while operating company vehicles according to the Fleet Management Safety Program.
  • Assist Activities Services staff with recreation, art, music, and adventure-based therapies.
  • Manage the patient community as a therapeutic milieu and hold patients and families accountable to community guidelines and recovery.
  • Intervene in clinical and community crises in a therapeutically valuable manner.
  • Assist with de-escalation and crisis management, including performing CPR and First Aid as needed.
  • Participate in team meetings, treatment plan reviews, staff meetings, and quality management teams.
  • Document pertinent clinical information in the electronic patient record.
  • Assist with transportation for admitting and existing patients.
  • Recommend ways to improve service quality and delivery.
  • Handle and distribute company funds properly.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of experience in addictions treatment.
  • CPRS certification.
  • A valid Tennessee driver's license.
  • Active participation in a 12-Step program, if recovering.

Meet Nadia Bhatti, our new Chief Clinical Officer.

Meet Nadia Bhatti, its new Chief Clinical Officer. That's why Cumberland Heights Foundation, Inc. is glad to introduce Nadia Bhatti, MSW, MPA, LCSW, PMP, CCMP, who joined its team on July 13, 2026 as Chief Clinical Officer. In this role, Nadia will oversee clinical operations and quality across its full continuum of care, from detox to residential treatment to continuing care. She brings more than 15 years of senior healthcare leadership experience to that work, along with a clear sense of what patients and their families deserve. Nadia comes to Cumberland Heights from HCA Healthcare, where she most recently led enterprise nursing leadership development strategy and directed workforce and clinical operations across more than 15 facilities. Her background also includes executive responsibility for behavioral health programs, spanning inpatient care, the detox portion of treatment, stabilization, and residential services. That mix of hands-on clinical experience and big-picture organizational strategy is exactly what drew its team to her. "Nadia has spent her career at the intersection of clinical excellence and organizational strategy, and that combination is exactly what our patients and their families deserve," said Jay Crosson, CEO of Cumberland Heights. "Her experience building programs from the ground up, strengthening compliance, and developing the people who deliver care will help us continue to grow as a healing place for our community." Nadia holds a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Administration from Arizona State University. She's a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Tennessee and Florida, a certified Project Management Professional through Cornell University, and a Certified Change Management Professional through Prosci. It's a rare combination of clinical depth and operational expertise, and it means its patients benefit from care that's both compassionate and well-run.
