Requirements
  • A high school diploma is preferred, or equivalent warehouse experience.
  • Practical knowledge of processing clothing and identifying clothing quality and prices.
  • Excellent communication, training, and supervisory skills.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Sorting Room Supervisor in efficiently utilizing supervised employees, and train and cross-train personnel for assigned tasks.
  • Assist in ensuring that merchandise is sorted, tagged, and priced according to policy, including correct tag placement, color coding, and dating.
  • Coordinate with the Store Supervisor on quality control and production of the required daily garment volume.
  • Maintain attendance, work schedule, production output, storage, and quality records.
  • Ensure the proper care and use of assigned equipment and maintain clean and safe processing, storage, and break areas.
  • Create and post a cleanup schedule that divides duties equally among personnel, and report unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain inventory of sorting supplies, including tags, staples, stapling machines, pliers, and pricing guns.
  • Collect and secure jewelry, antiques, collectibles, and other valuable items processed through the sorting operation.
  • Efficiently utilize beneficiaries assigned to work therapy in the sorting room, and train and cross-train them for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain attendance records for beneficiaries.
  • Support the work therapy program by modeling professional conduct, work habits, and supervision for beneficiaries as directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or Administrator.
