  • At least 4 years of hotel sales management experience.
  • Three to five years of sales management experience.
  • Knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service.

  • Mathematics, spelling, and reading skills at a 12th-grade level.
  • Effective business writing skills.

Responsibilities
  • Meet and exceed revenue goals by developing new accounts and growing current hotel accounts through a profitable selling approach.
  • Achieve at least 90% of productivity goals and 100% of activity goals established by management.
  • Lead direct reports to achieve the property's sales goals and hold them accountable for their essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Conduct appointment-oriented direct sales calls in accordance with the department budget and marketing plan.
  • Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying and capturing revenue-growth opportunities.
  • Capture competitor accounts through networking, research, and reader board surveys to target and solicit likely sources of new business.
  • Plan and implement an ongoing targeted account-development hit list to create new revenue and acquire hotel contacts and contracts.
  • Plan and implement ecommerce and internet marketing strategies.
  • Promote the brand and hotel story in the market to increase the property's overall profitability.
  • Adjust the sales plan to respond to changes in business and marketing trends, pursue the appropriate market mix and group and transient business, and achieve hotel sales, profit, occupancy, and budget goals.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitors, hotel operations, and current sales techniques and practices.
  • Target and prospect for new business through telemarketing, creativity, and innovation.
  • Use yield-management techniques to negotiate room rates and function-space commitments profitably.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, current, and well-documented account files and records.
  • Develop customer relationships through frequent professional, courteous, and ethical communication.
  • Develop customer profiles and maintain an effective trace system with trace dates and references to meet client needs and increase revenue.
  • Follow up promptly and efficiently on customer needs and inquiries.
  • Conduct research, surveys, personal investigation, and marketplace and territory studies to capitalize on the hotel's strengths and competitors' weaknesses.
  • Dedicate at least 90% of work time to direct sales efforts and other revenue-producing activity.
  • Control expenses, including travel on the property's behalf, to minimize hotel costs.
  • Represent the employee, hotel, and Sage Hospitality Resources with integrity, professionalism, service focus, and a caring attitude.
  • Maintain a positive team attitude and open communication with all hotel departments and coworkers.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and business-like appearance.
  • Perform work primarily seated, with additional walking, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and climbing as required.
  • Work in an office environment with weather exposure while making sales calls.

Sage will oversee daily operations of the property, originally constructed in 1906 as a Masonic Temple, including management of the hotel’s restaurant and rooftop bar.
