Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in diversified manufacturing operations is required, including at least five years as a plant leader of a manufacturing operation of comparable size.
  • The candidate must possess high integrity, the ability to influence outcomes, a highly energized team-based work style, strong project management skills, and a profile that inspires confidence at all levels.
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and implementing continuous improvement and Lean initiatives is required.
  • The candidate must understand and adhere to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, safety practices, and procedures.
  • The candidate must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate operations for the assigned manufacturing facility.
  • Drive improved results in safety, employee engagement, productivity, quality, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Develop and deploy the operational roadmap needed to advance the facility's operational excellence.
  • Supervise Production Supervisors and Maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing operations business plans covering program requirements, labor hours, cycle, and production costs.
  • Identify, handle, and profile waste streams for disposal; manage and update the hazardous waste management program and contingency plan.
  • Establish plant standards and metrics for world-class production floor organization and aesthetics.
  • Establish tactical and operational plans with measurable contributions to short- and mid-term results over a one- to two-year horizon.
  • Execute production and quality control standards.
  • Develop and manage the operating and team budget and cost controls.
  • Obtain product order data, including types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates, and ensure cost, quality, lead-time, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Develop manufacturing process plans covering personnel, materials, subcontracting, facilities, tooling, and equipment needs.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with internal functions and suppliers to optimize production and use of people, machines, and equipment.
  • Review production and operating reports and direct resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to control costs and prevent delays.
  • Perform administrative activities for effective plant operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.
  • Coach, develop, and train staff for internal advancement and succession planning.
  • Ensure emergency response equipment is available and properly maintained; act as an alternate emergency coordinator for hazardous waste releases and implement the contingency plan.
  • Manage a team of supervisors and experienced professionals with 10–20 direct reports who oversee plant departments with 100–200 or more employees.
  • Set goals, prioritize workload, and measure the work performed by direct reports.
  • Complete other projects and duties assigned by the Director of Operations or company management.
  • Work onsite at the Germantown manufacturing facility, primarily in the office and at times on the manufacturing floor, while wearing required personal protective equipment.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.
