- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and work in all weather conditions.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Inspect, grease, and maintain the directional drill, mini excavator, water truck including its pony motor and mixing system, mud vacuum, reel trailer, and drill head.
- Fill the water truck, confirm that the mud vacuum is empty, and help the locator prepare materials for the workday.
- Dig entry and exit pits and set up the drill as required.
- Choose the appropriate drill head based on soil conditions observed during potholing.
- Follow the locator’s instructions to drill the bore and pull the product back once drilling is complete.
- Monitor tailings to maintain correct flow, assist in sweeping the product into place, set up pedestals, and restore the work area after operations.
- Complete the Job Safety Analysis, identify and communicate hazards to the team, and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Load and unload drills, excavators, and other equipment.
- Move equipment between job sites as needed.
- Previous experience in the telecommunications, utility, construction, or engineering industry is highly desirable.
- A Class A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred but not required.
