  • U.S. citizenship is required, and applicants must provide proof of citizenship due to the position’s security clearance requirement.
  • A Public Trust or higher is required.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products is required.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, ohmmeters, and test meters is required.
  • Experience using micrometers, calipers, seat wrenches, and end pressure gauges to detect wear, misalignment, and hydraulic-system issues is required.
  • Experience interpreting and applying blueprints, schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, liquid and air flow sheets, technical manuals, and other specifications is required.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations using algebraic expressions and shop formulas relating to wiring and equipment load requirements is required.
  • Moderate knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic equipment and components is required.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, steam, refrigeration, plumbing, and welding trades and applicable safety practices is required.
  • Ability to determine the nature and extent of repairs, identify required materials and parts, and plan work using work orders, sketches, blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications is required.
  • Ability to use a variety of power and hand tools is required.
  • Competence interpreting statutory and regulatory requirements for Good Laboratory Practice and AAALAC and translating them into written policies and procedures is required.
  • Ability to train laboratory personnel in proper equipment use and operator maintenance to meet Good Laboratory Practice and accreditation standards is required.
  • Knowledge of service contract efforts, including procurement action, budget planning, payment, work scheduling, contractor surveillance, contractor performance assessment, modifications, and issue/problem resolution is required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and customer-service skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team is required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with relevant hand receipt holders to pick up, return, and schedule calibration of Test, Measurement, Diagnostic Equipment.
  • Coordinate with TMDE Service Center-Aberdeen to pick up completed equipment, drop off equipment for calibration, follow up on calibration status, and complete required calibration documentation.
  • Use the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support or another appropriate system to forecast TMDE calibration requirements 30 and 60 days in advance and provide planned schedules to relevant hand receipt holders.
  • Use the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support or another appropriate system to enter equipment maintenance and calibration data for all TMDE items and ensure the items are recorded on the property book.
  • Communicate with hand receipt holders regarding TMDE questions and processes and assist with other equipment maintenance requirements as needed.
  • Develop and prepare Public Health technical reports, business-process documentation, oral reports, charts, tables, and professional-quality presentations.
