Requirements
  • Native or near-native fluency in Arabic.
  • Knowledge of military terminology and applications in Arabic.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience teaching Arabic, preferably in a military or adult education context.
  • Fluency in Arabic with an understanding of dialectical variations.
  • Proficiency in military and cultural terminology in Arabic.
  • Ability to create effective lesson plans for diverse learners.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and Adobe.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking in an educational setting.
  • Interpersonal skills to engage learners.
  • Ability to work in a technologically supported environment and in in-person, online, and hybrid teaching environments.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Arabic language classes focused on military-specific and cultural topics.
  • Develop tailored instructional materials to enhance language proficiency.
  • Provide assessments and feedback on service members' progress through the Defense Language Proficiency Test and other tools.
  • Incorporate cultural education into language sessions.
  • Maintain professional development to stay current with language-instruction methodologies and best practices.
  • Produce thorough, accurate, and appropriately documented work products that comply with established criteria.
  • Perform duties competently and professionally while meeting milestones and delivery schedules.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of military terminology and applications in Arabic.
  • Teaching Arabic in a military or adult education context.
