Requirements
  • A college degree and 2-3 years of sales- or marketing-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are required.
  • Fluent English is required.
  • The role requires frequently standing or moving within and outside the facility, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 25 pounds, and handling objects.
  • The role requires interacting with guests, employees, and third parties in a manner that reflects positively on the hotel, brand, and company.
  • The role requires reading and writing for paperwork and management reports, interpreting results, and giving and receiving instructions and training.
  • The role requires mathematical skills for basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities are required.
  • Ability to travel to workshops, trade shows, conventions, and similar events is required.
  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Work may be required at night, on weekends, and/or holidays.
Responsibilities
  • Sell and service local catering, galas, nonprofit events, social functions, and wedding-related events in the function space and restaurant private dining spaces.
  • Develop a target base of wedding clientele and develop and implement event strategies, including setting goals, objectives, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine event themes, formats, and target audiences, with an emphasis on wedding clients.
  • Oversee event logistics, including venue selection, accommodation, transportation, audiovisual setup, catering, and equipment rentals, ensuring smooth operations and timely execution.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, understand event requirements, provide customer service, and collaborate with clients to develop event concepts, themes, and programs.
  • Oversee on-site event operations, including staff coordination and troubleshooting, to ensure a seamless experience for participants.
  • Identify and mitigate event risks and challenges, develop contingency plans, and ensure compliance with legal, health, and safety regulations.
  • Gather feedback from clients and attendees after events, analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes for future events.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and event-management best practices, and incorporate innovative ideas and strategies to improve event quality and impact.
Desired Qualifications
  • A related degree is preferred.
  • Prior hotel and/or catering experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of other languages is preferred.
