  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • At least one year of recent housekeeping experience is required; healthcare experience is preferred.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The candidate must be able to climb a four-step platform ladder with a handrail.
  • The candidate must be able to operate heavy machinery.
  • The candidate must be able to perform the physical demands of the position.
  • A satisfactory employment and attendance record is required.
  • New hires must receive pre-employment medical clearance and comply with Halton Healthcare's immunization policies.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of vaccination or a documented medical exemption.
Responsibilities
  • Clean patient rooms and large floor spaces, including the Food Services kitchen, dish room, production areas, and dining rooms, using dry and wet mopping.
  • Pick up, transport, and dispose of waste, cardboard, and soiled linen.
  • Assess the quality of completed work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Housekeeping experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
