Requirements
  • The candidate must possess a valid driver's license.
  • The candidate must have basic math skills.
  • The candidate must be fluent in English.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • The candidate must be able to perform routine physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repair, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting, and using hand and power tools.
  • The candidate must comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT, company safety, and company standards.
Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance service on 48-foot and 53-foot dry van trailers while meeting acceptable volume and quality standards.
  • Repair and rebuild suspension and running gear components.
  • Repair and rebuild landing gear assemblies and components.
  • Repair and rebuild wheel components and tires.
  • Repair and rebuild brake and air components.
  • Repair and rebuild electrical, lighting, and wiring components.
  • Repair and rebuild rear frame and door components.
  • Repair and rebuild side, nose, and roof components.
  • Repair and rebuild interior and floor components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
  • Perform welding and metal fabrication.
  • Perform service calls.
  • Wash and fuel equipment when necessary.
  • Road-test vehicles to verify the quality of repair services, dependent upon having a Commercial Driver's License.
  • Record all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system.
  • Work with the Parts Department to maintain appropriate quantities of materials, parts, service, and shop supplies.
  • Perform other maintenance duties or assignments when necessary.
  • Assist, guide, and direct junior technicians.
  • Participate in the care and upkeep of the shop, grounds, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Work independently or in team settings as appropriate.
