Requirements
  • Education Required (minimum): BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is required.
  • Experience Required (minimum): 10 years (minimum) of experience with design engineering, project management and client relations is required.
  • Experience Required (minimum): Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, budget analysis, and budget forecasting is required.
  • Ability to manage, motivate and organize team members, communicating and providing technical direction and task assignments is required.
  • All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel and Power Point is required with competency in software applications for email and databases.
  • Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques is required.
  • Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, processes as well as those financial obligations that would apply to projects.
  • Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required.
  • Overtime work is required.
  • Travel is required to client sites.
  • Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas is required.
Responsibilities
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships with client to include professional and social interaction with key home office and site individuals; act as liaison between client and company.
  • Identify client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicate those needs to applicable individuals.
  • Obtain client feedback regarding work performance and facilitate implementation of process improvements as appropriate.
  • Work with client to address and resolve issues that may develop relative to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of proposals for client work by working with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
  • Key activities monitoring the status of all on-going projects to include budget, schedule, scope changes, review of deliverables relative to scope and client expectations, participation in weekly schedule meetings and preparation of monthly status reports.
  • Ensure that contractual requirements are met, address and resolve contractual issues, initiate contract changes, and facilitate payment for services.
  • Review, approve and correct invoices applicable to project work.
  • Understand and communicate to company staff client’s processes and procedures, and facilitate training of company staff when needed.
  • Coordinate projects from earliest phases to budgets, design through issuance of construction drawings, and final project completion close-out.
  • Prepare Project Plans, budgets and schedules and be responsible to control the project scope, budget, and schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is desired.
  • Professional Engineering registration (EIT or PE), and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are highly preferred.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
