We are currently seeking a Director, Product Operations for Grove brands

The Director of Operations is integral to ensuring that new and existing products meet our standards across margin, efficacy, sustainability and quality. They have deep expertise in home and personal care manufacturing and are well versed in managing supplier relationships through times of growth, challenge and everything in between. They understand how to remain firm in representing the Owned Brands business but also how to build strong, lasting relationships.
This is a highly collaborative role. Reporting to the Senior Brand Director of our Product Team, the Director of Operations will work with the entire Owned Brands team (R&D, Packaging, Brand, Creative), Legal, Fulfillment Operations and external suppliers to ensure that we grow our business profitably and according to Grove’s values.
Responsibilites
- Manage and own supplier relationships in collaboration with Senior Brand Director, Product: Serve as primary contact for Owned Brands team and funnel communications to appropriate team members. Come up with standard metrics to evaluate and uphold supplier performance; conduct regular business reviews
- Manage and own all product costing: Negotiate costing for new and existing products to meet Grove Co.’s margin goals. Track cost changes and analyze trends across portfolio
- In collaboration with Legal team, oversee legal agreements and negotiations from inception to signature. Work through mutual non-disclosure agreements and supply agreements, representing the Owned Brands’ business interest throughout the negotiation process
- Oversee new product sourcing and manage sourcing team in China: Determine when to tap into existing network or expand suppliers. Lead supplier vetting in collaboration with Quality & Regulatory, R&D, Packaging and Inventory. Manage Head of China office and ensure that the team is delivering products that meet our cost, sustainability and quality targets
- Collaborate with Inventory team on procurement: Determine whether minimum order quantities meet our business needs so that we are not under or overstocked on components, materials and finished goods. Come up with creative strategies to take advantage of sustainable innovations in packaging and formula
- Manage the Senior Manager of Quality & Regulatory by ensuring all quality issues are resolved swiftly and that Grove is following the latest regulations
About You
- You have at least 10 years of experience in product operations within CPG, preferably in home or personal care
- You are a master negotiator and know how to effectively and efficiently seek resolution through challenging cost, legal and quality issues
- You have extensive experience managing suppliers domestically and overseas
- You have extensive experience working with internal teams - Brand, Product Development, Warehouse Operations, Inventory - to deliver products that meet all stakeholder needs at the right price
- You are a process person with a proven ability to create and streamline operational processes for maximum efficiency
- You have strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines
- You know how to communicate clearly and effectively to a broad group of stakeholders
- You have spent time in factories, and have a knack for how products are made, how to solve problems and how to build relationships with suppliers, even in difficult scenarios
- You’re passionate about working at a values-driven organization and have an impact.

- You are willing to travel up to 25%

- This full-time, exempt position is remote in one of the 13 states where Grove has established payroll. The budgeted base salary range is $160,000 - $170,000. This pay range is based upon the national average and may vary depending on geographical work location and experience level
