Francisco Partners acquires Weave and other digital transactions news briefs from 8/18/26. * Francisco Partners has agreed to acquire Weave Communications Inc. in a deal valued at $650 million, representing a 34% premium to Weave's share price. Weave is an 18-year-old payments-software developer specializing in health care. The news follows by a week Francisco Partners' deal to acquire Canadian payments platform Moneris Solutions Corp. in a $1.43 billion (U.S.) deal. * Klarna Group plc said chief financial officer Niclas Neglen and chief marketing officer David Sandstrom will leave the company early next year. Neglen has been CFO for six years, while Sandstrom has served nine years as CMO. A search for a new CFO is in progress, the company said. Additionally, Klarna reported its second-quarter gross merchandise volume reached $36.6 billion, up 18% year-over-year, helping to drive up revenue 27% to $1.042 billion. Net income totaled $9 million, reversing a $53-million net loss a year ago. The company's active consumers reached 120 million, up 8%, while its merchant count soared 54% to 1.2 million. * Some 27% of consumers indicated they would choose a restaurant that avoided AI, down from 41% a year ago, indicating increased consumer acceptance of the technology in foodservice, according to research commissioned by PAR Technology Corp. The results stem from a survey of 1,000 consumers in June. Prior year results come from a PAR-backed survey of the same number of consumers in March 2025. * Square announced an expanded relationship with restaurant-technology developer OpenTable. The move is expected to connect reservations, payments, and guest information in a single view for restaurants. * Stablecoin-technology provider Rain has announced the launch of the Agentic Payments Alliance. Other founding members include Visa, Mastercard, Fiserv, Circle, Solana, and Remitly. The move comes as much of the technology undergirding agentic commerce is still under development, the parties say. * The dLocal payments platform has been named the latest payment-processing partner for UATP One, UATP's merchant-services platform. UATP is a globe-spanning payments network owned by airlines. Nuvei is another UATP partner. * Payments platform Synchrony announced it will work with OpenAI to support AI capability in financing and rewards for shopping and at checkout. * PayRange has agreed to provide mobile-payment technology for Electrolux laundry machines used at laundromats. * Deluxe Corp. named Kevin Jones president of its Merchant Services unit. Jones joined Deluxe this month as the result of the company's $625-million acquisition of Celero Commerce, which he founded in 2018. * Transaction Network Services, or TNS, named Michael Johnson global managing director for its Payments Market unit. Johnson joined the company in 2017 as vice president of Asia-Pacific operations.

Deluxe to acquire payment-processing firm Celero Commerce for $625m. Headquartered in Nashville, Celero Commerce delivered more than $200m in revenue last year. Deluxe has signed a definitive agreement to acquire payment-processing company Celero Commerce in an all-cash deal valued at around $625m, plus payment of certain seller transaction expenses and other adjustments. In a statement yesterday (18 June), Deluxe said the deal advances its ongoing "transformation strategy" to shift the revenue mix towards higher growth Payments and Data segments. On a proforma basis, the combined Payments and Data businesses are expected to represent 57% of 2026 revenues post-closing, compared with 31% in 2020. The company will fund the transaction through committed debt financing. Deluxe president and CEO Barry McCarthy said: "Adding Celero immediately accelerates its transformation and shifts its revenue mix decisively towards its growing Payments and Data segments. Celero has loyal customers, partners, and employees, as well as strong financials and corporate culture, all of which are a natural fit with Deluxe. "Combined, the two companies will broaden its distribution reach and deepen its presence across key verticals including financial institutions, independent software vendors, and independent sales organisation partner channels. "At Deluxe, we have a proprietary, fully-scaled processing platform that will compliment and seamlessly integrate with Celero and their technology to deliver a compelling value proposition for customers." Headquartered in Nashville, Celero Commerce provides payment processing services, business management software, and data intelligence to small and mid-sized businesses. The company delivered more than $200m in revenue last year. Deluxe added the combination is expected to strengthen the "go-to-market" approach through a wider partner network and expanded sales coverage. Celero also brings an established partner base, adding around 60 new partners in 2025, from a base of 375 partners. Last year, Deluxe and Celero processed around $70bn in combined gross transaction volume. Deluxe, which is one of the largest paper-cheque producers in US, further added the transaction is expected to be accretive to adjusted EPS in the first year following closing. Celero Commerce founder and CEO Kevin Jones said: "This is an exciting next chapter for Celero, its employees, partners, and customers. "At Celero, we've always focused on helping businesses thrive through innovative technology, exceptional service, and strong strategic partnerships. Deluxe shares those values, and this combination allows us to accelerate that mission faster than we could have independently." The transaction is subject to US regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Closing is expected in the third quarter of 2026.
