Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree from a college or university.
  • Experience with online loan applications.
  • Experience with financial institution operating policies and procedures, especially regulatory and internal control requirements.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information to managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and apply basic algebra.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and interpret technical instructions.
  • Ability to lift and move 25–50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to use a computer for extended periods and perform heavy telephone use.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, occasional Saturdays, holidays with an alternate day off, and occasional extended hours as business needs require.
  • Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act, Currency Transaction Report, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control, USA PATRIOT Act, customer identification, customer due diligence, and suspicious-activity reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Review and manage accounts that enter overdraft within established overdraft limits.
  • Administer all aspects of the Courtesy Pay Repayment loan program for all bank offices.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and timely, accomplish production goals, and minimize potential losses in the overdraft Courtesy Pay Program.
  • Manage collection of outstanding overdraft amounts within specified time frames and amounts.
  • Notify appropriate personnel about accounts with items scheduled for return when payment status is questionable.
  • Place accounts into or remove accounts from the Courtesy Pay program in accordance with bank guidelines.
  • Process ILS imports, mail Courtesy Pay letters, and produce daily and monthly reports.
  • Review daily overdrawn-account reports and accounts reaching the activation period for Courtesy Pay.
  • Assist in developing programs that comply with financial institution requirements.
  • Identify, develop, and recommend revisions to internal standards, policies, operating procedures, and programs to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor account histories and habits to protect the bank from loss.
  • Code and contact customers regarding Regulation E opt-in and opt-out status; extract and review weekly reports.
  • Extract system reports and notify customers when overdraft amounts are not timely rectified.
  • Contact customers by phone and mail regarding negative balances.
  • Monitor repayment agreements and Courtesy Pay Repayment loans and notify customers of unresolved past-due payments.
  • Review Code Return deposit and fraud accounts and contact customers about unresolved past-due payments.
  • Review NSF database data, enter tracking documents, and complete monthly balancing.
  • Administer ChexSystems activities, including consumer disputes, investigations, charge-off entries, and recoveries.
  • Process account charge-offs for NSF and past-due repayment loans and send customer letters.
  • Refer accounts for external collections processing as needed and attend court hearings as needed.
  • Assist customers with repayment agreements and Courtesy Pay repayment loans for outstanding balances.
  • Review accounts for items eligible under the refund policy; process waivers and refunds; and balance and report results monthly.
  • Review new-account coding, recoveries, and coding for minor accounts.
  • Process bankruptcy coding and report filings to outside collections as needed.
  • Maintain and review account changes.
  • Complete the monthly Charge-off and Recoveries Report.
  • Process deceased-customer coding and notify Customer Care and external collections as necessary.
  • Pass applicable bank-policy and regulatory-compliance tests.
  • Process monthly external-collections statements.
  • Extract and review Authorized Good Funds, representment, and auto-charge-off process reports.
  • Process returned mail related to overdrafts.
  • Create coding and reports for acquisitions, new offices, and new products; create and update pull files; administer ILS system coding; and coordinate with the overdraft vendor team.
  • Review reports for overdrawn restricted accounts; perform coding, refunds, and reporting.
  • Update overdraft procedures, assist with audit reviews, coordinate representment and staff-training meetings, and attend subcommittee meetings.
  • Review the Overdraft Business Continuity Plan and vendor review annually.
  • Complete monthly NSF/overdraft tracking for Cornerstone and closed-account coding spreadsheet reviews.
  • Provide quarterly reports to the Risk Manager on charge-offs over $2,500.
