About the job

Requirements
  • At least six months of previous floor care experience, including buffing, waxing, and stripping various floor types.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to decipher and comprehend danger signs.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance to work at the assigned work site.
  • Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 as required by the federal contract.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned facility areas.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, buff, wax, strip, and/or burnish assigned floors.
  • Dust lights, furniture, and other horizontal surfaces; dry-mop hard floors; vacuum carpets; empty and clean trash containers and ashtrays; and spot-clean walls and windows.
  • Mix basic cleaning solutions.
  • Clean and maintain assigned equipment.
  • Assess floors to determine the service required.
  • Notify the supervisor about equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement.
  • Use cleaning methods and equipment, including scrubbers, extractors, walk-behind equipment, and appropriate pads.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year or more of previous floor care and custodial experience.
  • Cleaning management or floor care certification.
