Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • A New York State Registered Nurse license is required.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications are required.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a consultant and resource to nursing staff in interpreting policy and procedure standards and evidence-based nursing-care practices.
  • Provide clinical oversight for the safe development of new hires and assist newly licensed graduates with transitioning into nursing practice.
  • Meet regularly with orientees and preceptors.
  • Confer with the Director of Nursing Education regarding new-hire competency.
  • Provide teaching instruction to staff members while assessing and evaluating staff competency.
  • Participate in planning and analyzing educational programs based on evidence-based standards and guidelines to meet nursing staff needs.
  • Collaborate with the health care team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred, including an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Educator focus.
