Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent, technical certification, or equivalent training in the mechanical or oil and gas field is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office spreadsheet and word-processing applications are required.
  • The ability to problem-solve with little to no oversight and work with a team is required.
  • The ability to work overtime, handle call-outs, and live or relocate within one hour of the job assignment is required.
  • The physical ability to work with the required tools is required.
  • The ability to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise and lift from ground level, lift up to 50 pounds, manually transport a load up to 75 pounds, and apply up to 100 foot-pounds of torque is required.
  • The ability to regularly get in and out of vehicles and ride over rough roads is required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, background checks, motor vehicle record checks, and possible random drug testing is required.
Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and maintain equipment and systems, including automatic and manual pigging launchers and pipeline main-line block valves.
  • Follow company safety and operations guidelines and comply with company, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair assigned facilities, including pipelines, compression facilities, and measurement facilities.
  • Maintain on-call responsibility for assigned areas as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Department of Transportation requirements, and document required regulatory activities.
  • Safely launch, receive, and inspect pipeline pigs according to established procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize assigned responsibilities while working independently.
  • Manage activities with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment to perform integrity management and regulatory tasks on oil or liquids pipelines.
  • Monitor activity in and around pipelines and facilities and respond as necessary to protect system integrity.
  • Maintain required forms, records, and reports.
  • Respond to pipeline emergencies and perform cleanup associated with field operations and corrosion-control activities.
