Requirements
  • At least four years of experience in strategy and management consulting or business transformation design and delivery, with a strong proportion in consulting or professional services at a top-tier firm and in the Energy & Resources industry, particularly Mining & Metals or Power, Utilities & Renewables.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen and problem-solving ability, with mature judgment and the ability to deliver results.
  • Ability to structure ambiguity and communicate ideas, strategies, and recommendations clearly.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and management of small teams.
  • Strong project management skills, including balancing competing priorities while ensuring quality outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day leadership of client projects and aspects of client relationships and commercial processes, sharing responsibility with Partners for the success of specific engagements.
  • Lead and manage complex programs to ensure on-time delivery against agreed goals, leveraging firm best practices, personal expertise, and technical competence.
  • Guide and influence clients across situations, including execution of the commercial process, while becoming a trusted advisor.
  • Build the business by identifying new and expanded opportunities.
  • Create intellectual capital through thought leadership and knowledge across adjacent topics.
  • Develop others and build followership as part of the firm's asset building.
  • Lead firm-building activities and serve as a role model for firm values.
  • Oversee and guide joint teams as they develop hypotheses, engage stakeholders, conduct analytics, derive insights, synthesize deliverables, and achieve sustainable results.
  • Support Partners in project execution through project management, work planning, workflow management, and coaching and developing junior team members.

US employers plan 3.2% merit pay rises for 2027 amid economic uncertainty

US employers plan to maintain moderate salary increases in 2027, according to Marsh's Mercer QuickPulse survey of 1,001 organisations. Base salary merit increases are projected at 3.2%, with total salary increases at 3.5%, marking four consecutive years of similar rates. Economic uncertainty continues influencing compensation decisions, with 57% of employers expecting at least moderate impact. High Tech (3.8%), Banking (3.7%), and Energy (3.6%) lead in merit budgets, whilst Consumer Goods (2.9%) and Healthcare (3.0%) lag behind. Employers expect to promote 8.4% of their workforce in 2027, down from 8.6% in 2026. Off-cycle salary adjustments remain common, with 64% of organisations providing them. AI adoption in compensation planning is growing, with 70% of organisations reporting some automation, primarily for market pricing recommendations and benchmarking.

Marsh beats Q1 estimates with $7.6B revenue, $3.29 EPS as organic growth hits 5%

Marsh reported Q1 revenue of $7.6 billion, up 7.6% year-over-year, beating the consensus estimate of $7.38 billion by 2.88%. Earnings per share came in at $3.29, compared to $3.06 in the prior-year quarter, surpassing the consensus estimate of $3.21 by 2.46%. Key metrics showed mixed performance against analyst expectations. Consolidated organic revenue growth of 5% exceeded the 3.5% estimate, whilst consulting organic growth of 5% topped the 4.4% forecast. However, Guy Carpenter's organic growth of 2% fell short of the 4.2% estimate. Geographically, Marsh's EMEA division generated $1.21 billion in revenue, up 14.1% year-over-year and beating estimates. Mercer consulting revenue reached $1.66 billion, an 11% increase that surpassed the $1.58 billion consensus.
