We’re embracing a hybrid work model that enables our teams to split their time between office and home. Hybrid for us means we expect our teams to come together in our office on two core days, typically Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, to work together in person, and teams can choose where they work for the remainder of the week. What You’ll Do
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in customer behavioral data, primary customer research/feedback, and statistics/machine learning to help drive innovations through the effective identification and application of analytics. You will seamlessly bridge attitudinal and behavioral data to deliver comprehensive insights that inform and guide our business strategy. You will collaborate with researchers, data analysts, data scientists, engineers and business owners to help answer Simplisafe’s most complex business challenges through wide-ranging analysis. This is a highly visible and impactful role where you will directly influence Simplisafe strategies and decisions.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Partner with Engineering teams to deeply understand and influence what/how customer data is persisted for analytics purposes
- Write complex SQL queries to extract and transform raw data into usable analytics assets, developing high quality data pipelines
- Maintain reports and dashboards into key business metrics
- Identify trends, quantify and rank opportunities, and undertake customer and driver based journey analytics to support business planning & strategic decision making
- Develop and support robust measurement plans for experiments to maximize learnings and facilitate clear decision making
- Leverage statistics and machine learning to analyze behavioral data in conjunction with quantitative survey data to develop comprehensive insights on drivers of key customer actions (eg, subscription churn)
- Summarize insights from analyses into cohesive stories with clear recommendations and proposals for next steps
- Knowledge of the business, SME for customer journeys and biggest opps
What You’ll Bring
- Proven ability to understand business intricacies and utilize data and analytics to drive significant impacts.
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Economics or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
- Ability to communicate technical and statistical concepts clearly and concisely among audiences at various levels
- Applied experience with various supervised (e.g., regression, classification, decision trees) and unsupervised (clustering, principal component analysis, anomaly detection) modeling techniques to drive business decision making
- Strong partnership and influence skills; independently drive projects forward with the ability to understand the question behind the question
- Natural curiosity with a strong intuition on when to be scrappy and when to be thorough
- Experience building multi-step ETL jobs/data pipelines and working with job scheduling systems is a plus
