A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, cloud or online service engineering and automation, or cloud or online service operations.
Deep experience with at least one third-generation automation and configuration management solution, such as Chef.
Advanced scripting skills using Python and Bash.
Experience implementing monitoring tools such as Nagios, Graphite, or Zabbix.
Experience with RabbitMQ, PostgreSQL, Redis, ELK, Chef, Cloud Foundry, Bash, and Amazon Web Services.
Responsibilities
Engineer the Client Industrial Cloud infrastructure framework in support of the Predix platform, focusing on automated deployment, monitoring, and remediation capabilities for cloud services at web scale in fully virtualized infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service environments.
Automate delivery of cloud-based solutions built on the Predix platform and contribute to product requirements and the common operating infrastructure for monitoring, high availability, performance, security, and availability.
Build a fully automated, highly elastic cloud orchestration framework across multiple infrastructure-as-a-service providers, including Amazon Web Services, OpenStack, and Azure, using deployment automation and configuration management frameworks such as Chef.
Implement and execute automated monitoring and remediation services to ensure service availability and performance at scale.
Implement common operational infrastructure in distributed cloud environments, including security, encryption, authentication, authorization, and accounting; logging and log aggregation; and load balancing and Domain Name System services.
Engineer requirements for as-a-service offerings in collaboration with platform and services development teams.
Define and automate procedures for ongoing operations of production services.
Use advanced Python and Bash scripting to enable a DevOps model.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
Provide timely and accurate estimates for deliverables.
Job Description
You will be accountable for engineering of the Client Industrial Cloud infrastructure framework in support of the Predix platform, with a focus on delivery of automated deployment, monitoring, and remediation capabilities for cloud services at web scale, in fully virtualized IaaS and PaaS operating environments.
In this role, you will:
Automate delivery of cloud based solutions built on the Client Predix platform, as well as making key contributions into product requirements and delivery of the common operating infrastructure for services including monitoring, HA, performance, security, and availability
Build a fully automated, highly elastic cloud orchestration framework over multiple IaaS providers including AWS, OpenStack, and Azure, leveraging third generation deployment automation and configuration management frameworks such as Chef
Implement and execute automated monitoring and remediation services to ensure high availability and performance of services at scale
Participate in the implementation of some or all of the other common operational infrastructure in distributed cloud environments including:
Security, encryption, AAA
Logging and log aggregation
Load balancing and DNS
