Responsibilities
  • Provide transaction and marketing support for corporate and investment banking products by identifying customer needs and supporting cross-sell initiatives.
  • Prepare pitch books, account plans, briefing notes, deal screening submissions, business rationales for credit applications, and internal reports.
  • Draft call reports following client meetings and pursue follow-up actions for communication and relationship management.
  • Liaise with clients regarding facility documentation in coordination with the Credit Solutions team during negotiations.
  • Work within deal teams to support new transactions and portfolio management in accordance with internal policies and regulatory guidance.
  • Assist in syndication strategies by preparing lender presentations, liaising with participant lenders, and participating in client and bank meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of portfolio sub-sectors using internal and external sources for technical and regulatory information.
  • Engage with local and regional teams to relay opportunities for GMMT clients within MUFG's international network.
  • Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network for information gathering and collaboration across departments.
  • Manage external relationships where appropriate by building trust with corporate clients, venture capital and private equity funds, and partner banks on transactions.
  • Support branding initiatives with Events & Marketing teams by organising thought leadership events that raise the profile of GMMT on social platforms.

September 29, 2026 London and Dubai, 29 September 2026 - MUFG today announces the appointment of Edward Bell as Head of Research Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In his new role, Edward will lead MUFG's research coverage of the Middle East and Turkey, providing macroeconomic insights and analysis for clients and the bank. His coverage will also include energy markets, with a focus on crude oil and natural gas. Prior to joining MUFG, Edward worked at Emirates NBD where he spent over a decade covering MENA macroeconomics, markets and commodities, as well as rates and FX. Edward also worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit in Hong Kong and London as a commodities and Middle East country analyst. The financing will be on-lent through IIFL Home Finance to support home acquisitions by eligible women borrowers in urban and peri-urban markets. The project will be implemented through a co-financing arrangement involving the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and private financial institutions, including MUFG Bank. Focus On Women Borrowers The JICA funding is aimed at widening access to formal housing finance among low-income women and supporting homeownership, financial inclusion and economic empowerment. According to JICA, women account for around 30 per cent of housing finance users in India, while about 95 per cent of the country's existing urban housing shortage is concentrated among low-income households. India faces an urban housing shortage of more than 10 million units, with demand projected to increase by another 22 million units by 2030. The project is aligned with the government's Housing for All initiative and is intended to channel long-term funding towards home acquisition by low-income women. Japan Expertise To Support Housing Finance Alongside the financing, JICA, in collaboration with the Japan Housing Finance Agency and other partners, plans to provide training to Indian housing finance regulators and IIFL Home Finance employees. The training will cover affordable housing, housing policy and decarbonised building practices, with the objective of sharing Japanese experience and strengthening institutional capacity in India's housing finance sector. The agreement adds to IIFL Home Finance's recent access to institutional funding for affordable housing. In February, the company signed a USD 300 million loan arrangement involving ADB and other financial institutions to support affordable housing finance, particularly for women and lower-income borrowers. IIFL Home Finance said it had served over 4.89 lakh customers as of March 31, 2026, including 4.62 lakh women borrowers, and operates 315 branches across 18 states and two Union Territories.
