  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor, ANSYS, and Microsoft Office is required.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in power transformer manufacturing is required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical design of power transformers based on customer specifications, electrical design requirements, applicable standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Design and review transformer general arrangement drawings, internal arrangements, tank designs, covers, conservators, radiators/coolers, piping, support structures, and other mechanical components.
  • Create and evaluate mechanical designs and arrangements of transformer cores, windings, clamping structures, insulation components, leads, and active-part assemblies against short-circuit forces.
  • Design transformer tanks, covers, stiffeners, lifting devices, jacking pads, pulling eyes, foundation arrangements, and supporting structures; verify mechanical strength under full vacuum and specified positive internal pressure.
  • Design transformer cooling capacity based on specified cooling requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical design activities and prepare analysis reports for tank and material strength, seismic calculations, finite element analysis, fan flow, and other required analyses.
  • Extract and compile parts information to generate accurate bills of materials and part lists for manufacturing.
  • Guide production teams on engineering and manufacturing matters and troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals to practical problem-solving, including root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with industrial teams to support product quality, worker safety, environmental considerations, and cost efficiency.
