- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field is required.
- Beginner knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
- Developing technical writing skills.
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, and pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
- Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures.
- Provide technical input regarding project and contract risks to the lead estimator responsible for final bid price approval, and review the final estimate to ensure defined work aligns with the overall project schedule and cost goals.
- Prepare discipline estimates by completing a full takeoff of the scope of work and calculate material quantity requirements from engineering drawing dimensions.
- Monitor client addenda and advise the estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
- Assist with design review options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or material availability.
- Partner with the estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between the pursuit team and project management team.
- Research and recommend vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
- 1+ years of experience in the construction industry, estimating, or cost control.
