Requirements
  • A faculty member must meet credentialing requirements through a master's degree or higher in information technology, information systems, software development, computer science, cybersecurity, or a computer-related field.
  • An alternative qualification is an out-of-field master's degree with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent coursework beyond the introductory level in information technology, information systems, software development, computer science, cybersecurity, or a computer-related field.
  • An alternative qualification is a bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, software development, computer science, cybersecurity, or a computer-related field with documentation in two or more specified areas: an IT industry certification, two years of relevant professional experience, documented teaching excellence, research and publication in the field, or relevant additional coursework equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, continuing education units, vendor, or military coursework.
  • Applicants should submit copies of unofficial transcripts and/or current related certifications.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
  • Use available technology to enhance instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and other required records.
  • Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and provide a positive college experience.
  • Develop and implement active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning.
  • Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner and comply with college policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
  • Implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
  • Conduct activities within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Promote and respect diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.

  • CompTIA A+ certification.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or higher.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate certification or higher.
  • CompTIA Linux+ certification or higher.
  • CompTIA Project+ certification or higher.
