About the company

Bank of America runs one of the largest US banks, serving consumers, small businesses, wealthy families, corporations and institutional investors. Alongside checking accounts, credit cards, mortgages and business loans, it owns the Merrill brokerage, a private bank for wealthy clients and a global investment bank that advises on deals and trades stocks and bonds. Customers reach it through thousands of branches and ATMs and its mobile banking app. It earns money mainly from the gap between what it charges on loans and pays on deposits, plus fees from advice, asset management, deal work and trading. It grew from a San Francisco bank founded in 1904 and is headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Marvell doubles revolving credit facility to $3B, replacing $1.5B deal

Marvell Technology has signed a $3 billion revolving credit agreement, doubling the $1.5 billion facility it replaces. Bank of America, N.A. is the administrative agent, and the company disclosed the deal in an 8-K filing on October 23, 2026. The agreement took effect on October 22, 2026, and no loans were outstanding on that date. Marvell may raise commitments by up to $2 billion more, subject to conditions. The facility matures after five years, with an option to request a one-year extension. Proceeds may fund working capital and general corporate purposes. Borrowings carry interest at SOFR-based or alternate base rates, plus a margin set by Marvell's debt ratings. The company must keep its leverage ratio at or below 4.00 to 1.00, rising to 4.50 to 1.00 for qualifying acquisitions of at least $500 million.

team.blue extends $1.2B of Term Loan B to 2032 after upsizing twice

team.blue, a pan-European provider of digital services for small and medium-sized businesses, has extended €1.1 billion of its €1.35 billion Term Loan B. The Ghent-based company, backed by Hg, CPP Investments and Sofina, priced the deal on October 22, 2026. The refinanced tranche now matures in July 2032, instead of September 2029. About 90% of the company's term debt now falls due in 2032. Demand was strong. The deal was upsized twice from an initial €500 million, making it the largest software euro term loan issuance in the last 12 months. It priced at E + 425bps with an original issue discount of 98.5. "The depth of support from our institutional investor base allowed us to go much further," said chief financial officer Jonathan Thackray.

Wall Street fears AI agents will drain bank deposits, but analysts say risk is overdone

Wall Street fears AI agents could pull deposits from banks, but leading analysts and executives say the risk is overblown. Bank stocks have fallen since Meta Platforms launched its Muse personal agent on September 8: Bank of America is down 18%, Charles Schwab 14%, Wells Fargo 6%, and JPMorgan Chase 5%. Agents can compare yields and recommend options, which could erode the inertia that keeps customers' money in place. If deposits move, banks may have to pay more interest, squeezing profits. Analysts Mike Mayo and Gerard Cassidy say trust matters more to customers than slightly higher returns. A Deloitte survey found 72% of bank customers hesitate to share financial data with generative AI tools. Third-quarter earnings showed no clear shift in deposits.

Bank of America falls 12.7% after $1.21B penalty: sell or buy the dip?

Bank of America shares fell 12.7% in the month to October 19, while the S&P 500 gained 0.6%. The drop followed more than $1.21 billion in penalties from US regulators over anti-money-laundering and sanctions failures, announced October 13. The bank booked a $1.2 billion settlement charge, cutting third-quarter earnings by $0.17 per share. Adjusted earnings per share were $1.08, just below the $1.10 consensus. Investment banking fees fell 11%, and fixed-income trading revenue fell 17%. Net interest income rose 8% to $16.4 billion. At $50.39, the stock trades at about 1.7 times tangible book value, near its five-year average. Baird upgraded the stock to Outperform. The consensus price target of about $63 implies 26% upside, though compliance costs and weaker dealmaking remain risks.
