Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in a major projects and infrastructure environment on both the bidding and operations sides.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the technological ability to work proactively with all types of stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, analytical skills, and numerical skills.

  • Experience dealing with multiple project stakeholders, including design teams, quality, health and safety, project controls, clients, and client advisors.
  • Ability to lead clients and protect Ferrovial's interests through varying RIBA stages of projects, including identifying scope maturity and risks.
  • Knowledge of contract administration, including discharge of obligations and data management.
  • Knowledge of planning and programming techniques and processes.
  • Awareness of industry technologies and techniques, including Construction Design and Management, Safety, Health and Environment standards, and Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with project controls systems within a major civil engineering project.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling using Primavera P6.
  • Experience using Power BI.
  • Knowledge of measuring civil engineering works.
  • Good understanding of NEC contracts.
  • Good information technology skills and adaptability.
  • Excellent knowledge of documentation systems.

Responsibilities
  • Establish the internal project bid process with the Tendering and Commercial team and ensure the Operations and project delivery team interface is established.
  • Manage internal joint venture operating protocols and processes to create communication, collaboration, and information-flow efficiencies.
  • Lead and manage the full bid lifecycle, from win strategy and scheduling through production and submission, including a primary role in client-facing initiatives.
  • Drive consistency, compliance, and quality across the TDRA tender.
  • Mentor team members, peers, and stakeholders by sharing best practices to improve performance across the tender function.
  • Analyze outcomes from previous bids and provide insights and recommendations to improve processes and success rates.
  • Develop the winning strategy for tender opportunities.
  • Develop and implement integrated project controls systems, reporting strategies, and communication protocols.
  • Support and monitor implementation of bidding procedures in UK and Ireland projects.
  • Mentor UK and Ireland bidding team members and manage project team staff, including setting targets and reviewing performance.
  • Coordinate with the Spain Bidding Team and joint venture partners where applicable.
  • Identify complex construction risks and opportunities and assist in resolving problems.
  • Submit construction and project planning proposals that will inform project and construction management during construction and delivery after award.
  • Contribute to the formation of joint venture operating agreements and commercial arrangements.
  • Review and approve design and engineering variations and proposal modifications throughout tender and handover phases.
  • Lead the project delivery team and ensure contract deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
  • Set up the handover plan, prepare project mobilization plans, and manage the process in accordance with operational project improvement processes.
  • Implement initiatives and processes that maintain workplace standards and reinforce risk management, compliance, integrity, quality, and responsibility across the project.
  • Analyze engineering, quality, and construction processes and methodologies across the project and identify opportunities to improve project outcomes.
  • Lead and develop the engineering and construction project team and support employees with performance and development activities.
  • Support the design and technical engineering team by synthesizing and calibrating information as required to evolve water treatment practices and processes.
  • Develop infrastructure capability and expertise within the UK and Ireland business.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant Ferrovial Construction policies and procedures and contribute to revisions as required.
  • Drive the Ferrovial leadership model and values across teams.
  • Represent Ferrovial Construction's interests professionally through evidence-based arguments demonstrating insight and business value.
  • Represent Ferrovial Construction and associated entities professionally, positively, and respectfully.
  • Demonstrate corporate values and ethics in stakeholder interactions and client-interface opportunities.
  • Participate proactively in safety activities, including forums, drills, trials, and inspections.
  • Care for Ferrovial Construction property, documents, and data and maintain confidentiality and security requirements in accordance with information-management and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Maintain fitness for work in accordance with company policy and support direct reports in working safely.
Desired Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualifications in business, science, or management are desirable.
  • International project management experience in hydraulics, water treatment, or infrastructure is preferred.
